newbie. i need tips. thank u

i'm a 3b/3c. very coarse texture. not a great curl pattern.

any tips would help a lot.

i use the shea butter conditioner as a daily co-wash.

i leave a sally's generic of biolage matrix conditioning balm as a leave-in.

i just got KC curling custard in the mail but i use a ton of product and it may be too small and, thus, too $ for me.

should i be doing something different with my co-wash? add oil more than once/wk DT with it?
if i can't afford the KCCC, what else is good that's affordable for truly coarse, wiry, puffy hair? Thank you
I have 3c/3b hair, and i find that too much oil is no good. It makes my hair too hard, puffy and just an overall bad result of MEGA frizz.
I co wash with some suave condish, and then i rinse it all out. then I add a leave in, very generously, alternating between, trader joes nourish, or giovanni 50/50 or Rusk Sensories MOIST. Rusk is my favorite. Then I add some product, Catwalk CURLS ROCK is great, and although expensive, it goes a long way. or I use homemade flaxseed gel or Recoil. Oils, about twice a week, BEFORE the shower or as overnight treatments which get rinsed out with at least water the next day and at worst, I take a little in my hands and use it to scrunch out the crunch once my hair dries.
I don't know if this jives with what most people here do, but it works.

hi, thanks.love the avatar photo. that looks like my hair.

which oils do you like for overnights or for pre-wash?

what is Recoils? where do you buy it online?
thanks
not only is your avatar perfect for me but i also used Rusk Sensories leave-in.
i keep hoping i'll find a really great leave-in that gives me more shine though.
Thanks. My avatar is a spanish singer named Amanda Miguel, she's always been known for her long curly hair even now that she's older.

Recoil I brought in CURLMART after reading around at the posts. It's really good and it's from this brand AG.
here's the link, I hope it works if you decide to buy it. https://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html
I tried a whole bunch of other products that a lot of people swear by, but I didn't find they were great (some jessicurl stuff, Curly hair solutions curl keeper, and some others I can't remember).
I like aveda humectant, if I mix it with my products i think it gives great shine.
Oils, Avocado and/or Jojoba and/or Shea Butter (as pure as I can get it, although usually this one solidifies and I have to warm it to get oily and easier to use).
But brouse around, you'll see a lot of posts on all sorts of products.

I'm dying to get my hands on some AMLA oil, I heard this is good, but I want to finish some of the stuff I have at home first.
A lot of people steer clear of ALL silicones but I think if there is a little in ONE product is not bad. I just don't use anything where the main ingredient is any type of silocone. I wouldn't recommend any serums, the general concensus is that anything where the main ingredient(s) is silicone is a double edged sword and in the end, will only do bad to the hair.
good luck!!
