Default Long Aid Activator Gel and Clear Ecostyler - x-post

*click link for pictures*I just did a review of the Long Aid Activator Gel and the Clear Ecostyler when used together, and i have to say - for two products that are relatively inexpensive, they do play very well together.

In my post, I said that the verdict was still out, because my hair had not dried completely, but now that it's 100% dry, I have to give these two together - two thumbs up!

Scrunching the crunch was relatively easy, and the curls stayed in tact! My only gripe is that I wish it had a bit more shine on it's own, because after it was completely dry it did not have the same bling-bling as it did when wet. This, of course, is fine because all I had to do was add a bit of KBB hair milk and I was good to go.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this because I am shocked that I was able to get soft fluffy, yet defined curls with products that can be picked up down the street for just a few bucks.

Does this mean, I'm done shopping around? Ummm, no - I'm a product junkie, for cryin' out loud. But I must say that if I'm not in the mood to experiment, and I'm looking for a quick, easy and reliable way to style my hair, one that will leave it defined and soft to the touch well, I know which two products I'll be reaching for.

Can you post a pic of the ecostyler gel jar? I keep hearing about it and want to try it but I never see it in any store. Thanks.

Sure! Here's a link http://store.goldenmartbeautysupply.com/ecostyle.html to all of the different ecostyler gels. I use the (clear)Krystal one. I get mine at Sally's.

I need to find the Long Aid Activator Gel and use it with my black gel. It just sounds like too much fun.

I got a good hair day today with my Ecostyler black gel so I had to share with you ladies.

I deep conditioned with AOHS over night, detangled with a large comb, applied Devacare One as a leave-in, smoothed out my hair with my fake Denman brush *LOL*, then added Ecostyler last (a little goes a long way ladies). To seal the ends I used Moroccan hair oil.

Side/back view. Yes I'm in a bathroom LOL

Back view. Some fool decided to put those boxes on my window sill and block my view!

Side view. This gel helps with frizz.. as long as I don't touch my hair while its drying. Today was a good frizz free day.

Front is clipped back. I put a little bit of gel on the front of my hair and the frizz is gone. It'll stay like that till I wash out the gel tonight.

Maria! Your hair looks gorgeous!!! I only use Long Aid because it has the perfect amount of glycerin. I add water and Knot Today.....PRESTO! Head full of soft, defined coils. I've heard a lot about the ecostyler, but since I'm protein-sensitive I have to stay away....

gorgeous curls, Maria!

The Fantasia gel takes over 12 hours to dry when humid (the glycerin I guess) so switched it up with eco styler today....I mean. wow. first time using it and I'm amazed. It's elongated...and it's staying this way, it seems. It's a little hard because I ran out of my usual leave-in (should have used that long aid, huh!) but i'll def experiment with this.

Thanks, OP, for the rec.

I tried the brown ecostyler today - it was nice. A lot like the clear, but definitely not as much crunch. It's a keeper.

Springyhead-. And your avatar looks fab!!

Awww!! You are super welcome!! I'm glad it worked for you. Yeah, in this economy it's nice to know that there are a few less expensive options out there

Woops, I guess you did try a similar thing.. And yes this combo is great for definition and control. I had no idea I could do conditioner-less styling and still have moisture.
