To Cut or Not to Cut?

My hair is really damaged from chemicals such as hair color and relaxers, and it is falling out and breaking off. The last time this happened I cut it off and let it grow out, but it takes forever to grow, even though it grows back really healthy. My question is, should I cut it off to a shorter length to allow it to grow back healthy or should I just let it grow? I don't know what to do...I know most of my hair right now is damaged and I don't know if I should just start over or what...

definitely cut it. if your hair is already breaking from the damage, you wont retain any length anyway. it will just keep breaking off and it could even split further up the hair's shaft literally making it possible to grow your hair out.
The thing I'm worried about is the fact that I last relaxed in May or so, and my hair hasn't grown out much since then, so I can't chop all of the damaged parts out at once, and i don't want it to look stupid, but last time I BC'd it looked alright. I just want to start over basically. I hate what I've done to my hair...It's kind of depressing.

Here are some really pretty TWA styles.

If I were you I'd be chopping off some hair. Like Subbrock says, you may have too much damage, and delaying a cut can make your hair's condition get worse.

My staples: Mane n Tail (cowash), Garnier Fructis Sleek n Shine (leave in condish), Grapeseed oil or shea butter (sealing), Organic Root Stimulator Elasticitea (leave-in condish & light hold)
Oh my...I don't think I can go that short.
Cut it. It's REALLY frustrating trying to deal with damage that is causing MORE damage when you could just start with a clean slate. Also, if you wait too long to cut it, it's entirely possible that you'll end up going SHORTER than you ever wanted/needed too.

I did it! I got only a few inches off but it already looks much healthier.
