Default starting over

so i had really long hair that fell half way down my back when straight and i recently chopped it to shoulder length and i've always had dry thick unmanagable hair and i want to try the cg method so what products do you reccommend i will post pics later if i remember but since the cut my hair has looser curls to it and i think im a 3c/4a its very thick and has alot of shrinkage and heat damage and coloring that went bad. I want to achieve healthy hair so what are some products you reccommend i start with and protective styles i could try? oo and i started taking fish oil pills i hope that helps the growth process

Ok add some periods and comas because that was hard to read

But to start, sorry about your hair but at least you came to the right place. Are you going to keep cutting the damaged hair or try to nurse it back to health? My hair is dry too and I use Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose conditioner as a deep conditioner. The only other thing I can recommend to you is try to stay away from heat until your hair is healthy again. Protective styling - buns, ponytails, braids, hiding your hair - is probably your best bet. Since there are so many different ways of taking care of your hair I would try to do a search on what it is you're looking for and we can chime in to help you if you have any questions.

ITA with Maria, so i really haven't much to add. I personally like AO Honeysuckle Rose to DT too, but I also like to add honey and evoo to my Trader Joe's conditioner - just as another option.

I've been where you are now - I had hair down to my waist and lost it all, so I know the frustration. Don't worry though, you'll get it back. Listen to Maria - she and so many others around here have really helped me whip my hair back into shape.

i dont plan on cutting it anymore. currently right now im just trying to not have anymore breakage. So the honey suckle conditioner, some shea butter, jojoba oil, and protective styles should help me?
