do you use oil to style? stick to shea?

my hair responds to oil (it's very very thick in each strand) but you can really see the oil on my hair.

(i've used jojoba or olive oils).

should i stick to shea?

thanks natural women!
i mix my castor oil directly with my leave in and then apply it to my hair. i prefer oils over shea butter.
im not sure exactly what you mean when you say that you can really see the oil on your hair, but i know that one reason i like using oils is because it makes my hair shinier.
My hair hates shea butter. Not sure if it responds this way to other butters or not (have got a few other butters but haven't tried them yet). It responds well to most oils.

I Love oils rosemary and coconut have given me really shiny healthy looking hair. My experience with Shea butter has been it makes my hair too greasy and it feels coated with product, and after I touch my hair I feel like Shea is all over my hands. I probably shouldn't play in my hair as much as I do anyway but I like my hair to feel like there's nothing in it.
Not quite sure.. my hair seems to "refuse" to absorb many oils.. and it just stays on the surface of my hair and it's a greasy mess.. so far I'm using shea butter and it's fine and makes my hair shiny.. but I want a little softer.. is there such thing as a perfect product? ~

I have trouble telling if the shea butter actually works though...

I do the same as Subbrock and mix castor oil with my conditioner. Olive oil dries my hair out and I only use jojoba oil to mix my eo's when deep conditioning. I've tried the pure unrefined shea butter and it leaves my hair feeling coated. So I stopped using.

If you are not having problems with Shea butter then stick with that since the oils you are using are not working. If Shea butter is not working for you then try a different oil or even try a different butter. Unfortunately, it's going to be a trial and error thing to see what is right for your particular hair.

my hair hates oil ... i'm not sure if it just hates oils in general or if its just certain oils but it doesnt respond to it ... it just makes it feel nasty and the hair right above my ears just looks dry .
