Never been on a cruise - me either

You're living my dream with the art - I wish I was doing shows and exhibitions. Do you have any of your art online? I'm a huge Daniel Merriam fan, do you like his work?

Ooooo, I wanted to get my nose pierced too. Couple weeks back I went in with a friend to a tattoo shop who was getting her cartiledge pierced. I told the guy I was thinking of having my nose done, so I they spent 15 minutes trying to convince me to do it. I chickened out though. Seems like it would take forever to heal. How is it feeling?

I hear there are lots of good deals now that the recession is in full swing. I live btwn Miami and Ft. Lauderdale (which is where a lot of cruises sail from) so for me it's pretty reasonable since I won't also have to pay for airfare.

Yes I have a link to my art blog in my siggy. Check it out if you would like. And I've never heard of D. Merriam.. do you have a link? I do mainly abstract psychedelic artwork, and actually WileE was nice enough to buy a piece of my art not too long ago.

I my nose ring.. I think it's so cute! It only really takes a few weeks for the piercing to heal, but the cartilage takes much longer. I think for the nose generally the healing time is about 2 weeks (could be longer depending on your body of course), but for cartilage I hear it's like 12 weeks. If you wanna go for a piercing and you're worried about healing times I'd say get your nose done..lol (I'm biased, what can I say..)

woohoo ive been tagged!
and im glad you made that list because ive been meaning to check out everyones blogs but havent gotten around to it yet.

as far as piercings go, what cartilage are you guys talking about--ear cartilage or some other face part? ive had my ears, ear cartilage, nose, belly button, and tongue all pierced and the only one that gave me trouble was my nose piercing. it never healed and started to develop a keloid looking bump. ive had it done twice and both times the same thing happened. i may be an idiot and try it one last time because i think theyre so cute.

I envy you. If I ever get a chance to take a cruise i want to go to Greece. Probably cost me a fortune with flight and everything, but one of these days I'll do it.

I definitely check out your art! I don't really have a style yet -I'm still discovering it. Here's a D. Merriam link. If I could do any kind of art I would love to paint like him. I love using watercolor.

Did the bump go down right away?

it healed immediately after i took it out. the very first time i got it pierced and i took it out, i decided i had changed my mind and was going to give it a try again, but i couldnt get the stud thing back in because my hole had closed up. the bump went away both times too. i cant even see the hole were it was pierced either time. its weird how certain parts of your body can be like, "nope! youre not piercing me!"

and i love how this thread has gone from hair blogging to piercings.

Oh and as for Daniel Merriam.. very nice stuff. I wish I could paint and draw more realistically. I guess I just have to practice..I can draw properly but it's just easier for me to just let the paint flow out without predetermination.

And if you like him, check this artist out..she's in the same vein: http://www.cynmccurry.com/

I was actually thinking about going to claires to see if they have some sticky jewelry that might resemble a stud, and just stick on my nose (provided I don't look like an idiot, LOL). Wearing it around for a week and seeing if I can live with the look. If so, I might just give it a try.

This thread did take a turn, didn't it. Think the mods will mind.
