I had no reservations about trying honey, personally. I loved how soft my hair became. I used a 60/40 ratio of Elucence and honey (or molasses) for my CO wash and left about 10% in after rinsing. I did this for about 6-8 weeks. Then all of a sudden my hair got really frizzy. Halo frizz. In 3 months of using Elucence, I have never gotten overconditioned, so I thought I would omit the honey/molasses. That did the trick. I think it OVER moisturized my hair......which is hard to do as my hair is thick, coarse, porous. I haven't used it for 4 CO washes and my hair is still very soft. I will continue to gauge my hair softness for the next time it needs honey. Just goes to show you how good honey is at moisturizing. Gotta love natures moisture miracle!

PS: the book "The Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd, the story interweaves some of the great uses for honey.....such as a wood preserver!
