London curlies: who's had their hair cut at Adornment 365?

Hi Ladies,

I desperately need to get a trim but for some reason I'm terrified of all hairdressers ("Natural specialists" or not) in the UK. Let's just say I've had some bad experiences since I went natural years ago. I had a curly cut at Devachan in NY last year and it was awesome. Met Lorraine Massey (who I never realised was English) and she said they would be opening in London soon, but as this has not happened yet, I need to find an alternative.

I'm trying to grow it out so am scared of scissor happy stylists. I have tried doing it myself but I keep missing bits, and I do need to get it shaped. Just without losing too much length. Can anyone recommend Adornment 365? Or any other curly salon in London that can deal with what is I guess classed as "4a/b" hair?

Any reviews or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Please keep us updated on if you try a salon I was wondering about Adornment too, but i'm too chicken to try anyone new, so I always wait until I return to the states and see my old stylist !

Good Luck !!

I'm a bit wary of trying adornment as I don't seem to be able to find any reviews, and the website seems quite loc-focused.

Have found a couple of recommendations on this thread:

http://www.britishcurlies.co.uk/curl...iewthread/277/

Am tempted to book a consultation at Identity and see how I feel after talking to them. I wasn't too keen on the products they seem to use, and I couldn't make out if people are getting their hair cut straight or curly. If anyone says they have to straighten my hair to cut it, or tries to recommend a "softener" or anything similar, I'm out.

Here's their website link:

Thanks for the good luck wishes, and I will report back.

NoodleNaps, not a Brit, but have you thought about contacting Lorraine Massey and asking her for a recommendation?

Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.
Hear that crash? It's me falling off the CG wagon.
NoodleNaps, also Carlos Flores comes to London 4 times a year to cut curly hair. I've never been to him, but i've read good things on this site.

I'm transitioning right now, but in another six months I was going to try him for my BC. It would be nice to find someone based here in London though.

I read the other thread you had posted and Identity seems likes it could be good !

I've also emailed Carlos Flores from the Mario Diab salon. He trained at Devachan and is apparently in London every couple of months. So fingers crossed!

I love your hair, by the way! Especially the shape at the back.
