@sculptrz - Sure

I just wanted to come back and give another update because I've had a chance to use the Restorative Conditioner again.

It still works very nice - my hair feels very conditioned, it smells great - the works. But I'm seriously not diggin' this dullness that it's giving me by using it as a leave-in. Even with Qhemets my hair is looking unusually dull and I don't like that. The same thing happens to me when I use Teri's Conditioner method. Great defined curls, but dull as a dance without music.

I think this is happening to me because my hair is low porosity, so I think what is happening is that the product is simply sitting on top of my hair. I'm thinking what I will do is simply use it as a rinse out conditioner or add some olive oil and use as a DT. It's actually a really good product though, and if you don't tend to have issues with product sitting on top of your hair then it should be a good fit for a leave in as well.

I can't stress enough though how good my hair feels. It's softer than usual, yet definitely strong and healthy.

So, that is all. Remember every head of hair is different.

I went looking for it yesterday, and all I saw was a small section with SheaMoisture's body products.

I was a little sad.. when I check the website it says all the Targets (San Antonio here!) are just out of stock. uhm. restock now. DO IT.

I'm running out of shampoo and conditioner.. well. I mean I have like 4 bottles of conditioner and two bottles of shampoo, just. they're all at about 25% right now. So I guess I technically have a full bottle of condish and half a bottle of shampoo. but my mother doesn't know that.

I did buy the coconut hibiscus face/body bar and i love how it smells. smells like fancy white chocolate. haven't gotten to use it but by the looks of it my face will be like butter.

I would love to try the smoothie, though. It sounds divine.

Hey, I used the Restorative Conditioner last night for my twist out today but I added some coconut oil to each section also. Before I undid the twists I sprayed my hair with some sweet almond oil and CD Tui Leave In (mixed together). My hair is extremely shiny and moisturized, but not too moisturized.

Anyways, my point is, have you tried to use the conditioner along with an oil or something?

I purchased the moisture mist. How are you using it? 2nd day refresher, leave-in?

I use the moisture mist after I have completed my puff. I wet my hair with water. Gel my sides with KMF gel band it and then spray the moisture mist.

Default Finally!

Make another sweep through Target and they had made a tiny display of MJs, Jane Carter and Shea Moisture. I went with the Curl enhancing smoothie and the Deep treatment masque. I used the smoothie on the back of my head where it is finer. I put the masque as a leave-in in the front and on the crown where it is very coarse and dry. There is a small patch that is shorter than the rest and is like steel wool. I misted a bit of water before applying the products and braiding the back. The front is twisted with 6 twists. I only took down 2 and applied the masque as a test before I re-do the other 4.

So far that crispy patch in the crown feels very much like the rest of my crown. It isn't baby soft of course but it doesn't feel like I could use it as a pot scrubber anymore--if it lasts that alone is worth the price. Time will tell. It's still a bit damp all over so we'll have to see how it is dry and how it will react with some other products.

I hope this helps condition my hair so that the edges will lie down.

Unhappy

I had a chance to try a few of these products from this line. I tried the following:

-Coconut & Habiscus brilliant curl shampoo. The scent is reminiscent of KBB's cranberry cocktail but a lighter version. This shampoo was not moisturizing. My hair felt slightly rough, not a good thing. I won't repurchase.

-Coconut and Habiscus conditioning curl and style milk. The scent is the same as the shampoo I mentioned previously. This milk is not as thick as the KBB hair milk. It felt sort of watery think of this as gel mixed with a VO5 conditioner and a small amount of water. It's not thick at all. My hair had some shine to it BUT it felt and looked dry. I won't re-purchase.

- Shea butter Restorative conditioner. The scent of this product believe it or not is similar to the honey conditioner from the body shop. This conditioner left my hair soft but I would not use this as a leave-in. The verdict is still out on this, I will update once I use it again.

I have super thick hair, low porosity. I think my hair texture is coarse. I am protein sensitive. My hair is not a big fan of shea butter and these products are loaded with them. My hair may not be the best indicator on whether or not these products will work on others. The scent on these products linger and I have issues with overbearing scents. Eventhough the scents of these products are strong the yucca and aloe scent is the better one out of all of them. The african black soap line smells musky. The mositurizing spritz are not moisturizing I put a small amount of my hands and my hands were rough I did not feel like spraying this on my hair. I don't think I'll re-puchase. I will stick to Darcy's and my Surge deep treatment. HTH

Has anyone tried the Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie? Please explain how you used it. As in did you put anything underneath it? I put it in my hair with KCKT, but I didn't like the way it felt so I washed it out. I would like to give it another shot before I start hating it. I haven't try it alone yet, but I am hoping someone else did, before I have to be the guinea pig.

I think because you have low porosity hair and are protein sensitive that may have been why the products were not so awesome. I have high porosity and my hair soaks everything up and I can actually put protein in my hair like once a week without my hair telling me off (lol). Hopefully as they expand they will have different formuals for more hair types.

When I was being patient I just section my hair and raked it through each section with my fingers. Simplicity is the answer for me.

Yes, I used it with Qhemet Biologic AOHC. I have low porosity hair - it's just not working as a leave-in for me - As I mentioned, it's just sitting on top of my hair.

Leaves my low porosity, coarse hair looking dull, which is not a usual thing for me. My hair usually has a very nice natural shine to it. As I mentioned before I had the same problem with Teri's Conditioner method - some people swear by it, but it makes my hair well defined but dull because the product just sits on top. Oh well...

BTW - what Darcy's products do you like? I haven't really tried her line yet.

I used the Curl & Style Milk yesterday and my hair seemed shiny and moisturized at first. Then about an hour os so later it looked and felt dry. I'm going to mix some castor oil or glycerin with it and see how that works.

Unhappy Didn't work for us at all

I so wanted to like these products but at the end of the day they did absolutely nothing for my hair nor my daughter's hair. They just didn't have any slip at all. I was on a cruise this week and did a lot of swimming in both the ocean and a pool. I thought that may be why they weren't working. But when I got home, I took out my trusty Miss Jessie's Rapid Recovery Treatment and voila, my hair was back to normal. But even before my deep condition, I used some trusty Suave Naturals and it made my hair feel so much better. Not sure why the SheaMoisture products didn't work for but they did not. I won't be purchasing them again.

From Darcy's I love the Tacuma moisture whip, it contains shea butter but for some reason it does not give me any issues. I also like the pumpkin seed conditioner and the Avocado and plum twisting cream. I always get them fragrance free and I always ask her to make them protein free which is a positive. The cream and the moisture whip works better for my hair when it's wet. I have yet to find a product that works for me on dry hair. If anyone knows of any let me know.

I'm going to return my Shea Moisture Curl & Hold Smoothie and the Shea Moisture Elixir. The Smoothie makes a great moisturizer but I'm looking for some hold for my twists. The Elixir smells like rubbing alcohol. Curls Creamy Curl Cleanser is still a keeper.

Default boston curlies

the target at south bay mall has the shea moisture hair products. as well as *some* miss jessie's, the curls line, and jane carter.

when i went today, most of the miss jessie's stuff was sold out. they're all together on the endcap near the other hair products.
