What's your hair care routine?

I'm trying to develop my own hair care routine, and I'd love to see what you ladies are up to! Please post pics if you can
I've been 100% natural (save straightening/blowdrying) my whole life.
I'm 15 y/o and it's time for me to fix the heat damage and take care of my hair.
I REALLY need help figuring out exactly what I need to do as far as a hair routine,
products, easy hair styles etc.
for my "4b/c" and heat damaged hair. I love my hair,
but it's definitely overwhelming, so
all suggestions are welcome
(the more natural, the better!)

Hair Goal:
So this summer I am putting more time and effort in my hair. So I have two routines one for school and then one for summer.

School Routine:
  1. Go to bed with no head cover (I know I am terrible but I used to be so tired)
  2. Wake up wet my hair in the shower and use a little conditioner to rinse my hair (this norished my hair and kept it soft whole day plus rinsing my hair often helped it to grow alot!!!)
  3. Towel dry it alittle (but still a little damp to keep it soft)
  4. put in a leave in conditioner (For sheen and moisture)
  5. then just wear it in a afro
All this only took like ten minutes which was great for school.

Summer Routine:
  1. I use a silk scaft to wrap my hair to protect it from the pillow case no matter what hair style I have wether it is an afro or a twist out.
  2. Then when I get up in the morning if its a style where water will mess with the hairstlye then I use an oil spray to moisturize my hair and maybe once every three days mist it lightly with water (with a spray bottle)
  3. at the end of my hairstly I wash, condition, and comb my hair. Then I put in a leave in conditioner till I am ready to do another style.
I hope this was helpful.
weekly(or whenever I get the chance)

-finger detangle on dry hair.
-finger detangle under running water.
-apply ayurvedic hair paste (amla/maka) for 1 hour minimum
-rinse
-cowash and rinse to remove grit
-spray MSM mix on soaking wet hair....all over
-apply leave-in conditioner or whatever conditioner I used to cowash(depending on what I have on hand)
-seal with castor oil
-bun

I clarify/shampoo my hair when needed and spritz and moisturize every other day.
Last Relaxer: Nov. 07
BC: May. 2010 (30 months)
Hair Type: thick 4b/4a
Current length: back at APL
Goal length: hip
Staples: natural growth aides
In the summer time (and I just came up with this regimen two weeks ago! lol):

-wash every 5 days (regular shampoo)/condition
-moisturize hair everyday (spritz water w/ water or rose water and then add moisturizer) AND seal ends
-go!
-finger detangle every day
- twist/braid every two weeks

In the winter time (this is what I did this past winter):
-wash every two weeks (clarify and deep condition)
-style via twists or braids every two weeks (or longer)
-moisturize daily with hair butter AND seal ends

I think for this fall/winter I am going to try more protective style and keep them in longer because my hair suffered a lot from trying to wear it out earlier in the winter time when the air was done dry!

I used this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE9Kf...os=BMEgRPr7cmk to do my finger coils. She shows her method about half-way through the video. I used giovanni leave-in, applied a little cantu leave-in to each section, and then finger coiled with eco styler gel. I usually twirl each small section of hair around 2-3 times (you just have to find out what works for you to get the definition you like). Even though it takes a long time, that style usually lasts me 4-5 days. I haven't tried it with KCCC yet. I'm also looking forward to doing another bantu knot out now that I have more length. HTH!

Proud to be a PJ!

This summer I do the following at least once a week:

1.) Prepoo with AO BGA Protein + Strengthening Cream Rinse
2.) Wash with shampoo bar
3.) Condition with AO GPB
(All of the above done in large twists.)
4.) Use KC Knot Today as a leave-in
5.) Seal with castor oil
6.) Style

It's been working so far.

I would love to moisturize daily as everyone recommends, but something about applying product to my hair everyday irks me.

I have the same routine all year round - I do this every 2 weeks:

Detangle with Kinky Curly Knot Today

Wash with Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Threat Shampoo (I probably messed that up - I can't seem to get that name right! )

Condition with Oyin Honey Hemp Conditioner mixed with Olive Oil

Moisturize with my own mixture of: Oyin Whipped Pudding, Qhemet Amla Nourishing Pomade and Aloe Vera Gel.

That's it! Less is more for me!
colder months:currently cowash with Tresemme Naturals condish(2-3 times a week), detangle with this conditioner in the shower. The when out of the shower apply Unrefined shea buter all over, messaging into hair. Its very moisturizing.
warmer months: Cowash with tresemme naturals conditioner(3 times a week) or VO5 moisture milks conditioner, detangle while in the shower.

* Sometimes ill do a wash in go, depending on the weather with my Shea moisture Curl and style milk and my eco styler olive oil gel.
Here is my routine (summer & winter):

Every two weeks:
-Overnight deep treatment using henna or honey and olive oil.
-Co-wash with Elucence MB Conditoner.
-Deep condition with Curl Junkie Curl Rehab and a heat cap for at least 30 minutes.
-Apply Curl Junkie Deep Fix as a leave in and seal with a coconut/olive/castor oil mixture.
-I use flax seed gel and style hair in twists and wear them for the next 2 weeks and start all over again.
-I clarify with castille soap when needed. I also do a bentonite clay treatment about 4 times a year.

You can see my photos in my fotki album (see my signature).

I wouldn't exactly call what I do a routine.

Fall Semester:
27 Aug -29 Nov: I have twists and they're pretty long, wash them whenever I feel up to it
I wash my actual hair, its so soft after I take it out of the twists, but that doesn't last long, unfortunately. But my fro pre relaxer is back! and couldn't be more excited!
Do the dc and all that good jazz haven't done a hot oil treatment in a while. (like years!!!)

1 Dec to 17-27 Dec: I get a weave in to give my hair a break from the twists

Another wash

27.Dec-17. May : More twists!!!

Wash dc....etc etc etc

21 May-25 Aug: More twists!!! for my summer job!

Overall I have twists most of the year, its low maintenance I deep condition and spoil my hair once its out of the twists. Its an extremely easy routine for me to maintain during the year. Might be a little costly for the twists but I find that its worth it. My hair has grown alot since 2010 Jan. by just putting it into the twists and oiling my scalp as needed and washing.
If I can find some pre and post pictures I will post them. =)

In the picture that's about maybe a month or two after I decided that I wouldn't relax my hair anymore, I just had soft and beautiful curl smoother in it. Left my hair soft for a little bit then it got hard. But that's me! I'm the one with the black scarf.
