How to make my hair stay down?

So i'm new to this whole thing, i just talk my hair out of braids like almost a month ago( not the ones with extensions, i stopped those 3 years ago but the ones with my own natural hair) and im trying to take care of it but it's kind of layered and it sticks out, mainly the top layers, my hair is very thick so is there anyway i can make it more droopy, i know this is weird but i wanna make it droop down a little more.

You can twist, flat twist or braid your hair--leave it in over night and then take it down for more of a flat/straight look. But really, either your hair grows down..or it doesn't. If you have a 'fro straight out the shower then...that's that.
