i don't know these people, but i will say that when i was a regular on nappturality.com, i noticed that same kind of mentality with certain groups of women.

there are women who can't just take another person's hair experiences and advice at face value, apply what they can use, and discard what they can't. no, these women covet and seemingly obsess over what other women have growing from their scalps and will cling to every word, method, product suggestion and acquire the precise combs, brushes, scarves, and hair clips that these people say they use.

so much so, that when a member reveals that she has cut off her 10-year-old locs to sport a twa, has flat ironed or permed her waist-length natural hair, or has shaved her sides into a mohawk, her actions cause an uproar and make her a target of virtual side-eyes, finger-shaking, tongue-sucking, uninvited opinions, and sulking. and all of a sudden, the fan base that the member once had, has left her in the dust.

and most of the time (on that site), the women who were coveting and taking such an emotional stock into what another person did to her hair, didn't have a hair texture remotely similar to the person who did a radical change and could never naturally achieve the type of hair that they so desperately obsessed over.

so if you are reading this and find yourself to be a woman who has too much interest in someone else, whether it's how she wears her hair, how she dresses, how she lives, etc., know that that is creepy and oogie behavior and that you should take stock, self-reflect, and work on liking your true self instead of modeling your personal choices after someone else's.

there are opinions and then there are straight b*tches on youtube. i told someone off, let the comment up and someone else got their panties in a bunch. i told that person they could get the hell off my channel too if they didn't like it, im not here to kiss anyone's ass lol.

- don't let everybody elses long straight weave bum you out. don't let other people's big/long natural hair bum you out either. embrace what you have and rock it with confidence, because that's the only way you'll be happy. and whether you realize it or not you are somebody's influence. show them what it truly means to be confident.

Like someone said above, if you're putting your image out there, you need to have thick skin. Quite a dramatic response, but maybe she got tired of putting herself out there like that?

that's one of the reasons that I would never become a hair blogger, youtuber, etc.

So I saw a thread the other day on LHCF, and I wanted to share the topic with you guys because this situation really bothered me (not LHCF, but what the thread was about). Apparently, a popular YouTuber, Chisellecouture (http://www.youtube.com/user/chiselle...e?blend=1&ob=4), removed all her videos due to the backlash she received after she cut her hair and colored it. Now, I'm not sure if you ever saw her videos, but she had EXCELLENT hair and great tutorials. I didn't see her haircut, but it was supposedly short, and not too cute.

But my thing is...why are women being attacked b/c of how they choose to wear their hair? There was another natural haired blogger who was ridiculed because she decided to get a texturizer (I think someone even called her a traitor). The whole thing is just rude and stanky to me. These women take the time to share information and share their journeys with the world, and then when they do something a group of people don't like they get attacked. Are people serious?

Many YT'ers live vicariously through the person they're watching... they want to be like them in every way, and when they make a change that isn't expected or not liked, it's a personal attack against the vlogger. Kinda like "why did you change?" What ppl don't realize is that once you're "on camera," your life and what ever entity you make known of yourself is under extreme scrutiny from everyone. The internet is a dangerous world... it's not poppies and peppermint all the damn time.

In the same breathe, vloggers need to develop a thick skin as previously mentioned and not take everything said to them or about them to heart. I know words can be harsh, and an onslaught of negativity can really affect the psyche, but if you put your business out there for the public to view, then you can only expect the negative as well as the positive to flow.

Hmm, Idk how I feel about the new video she made. I mean I know but right about now I'm not so sure I even want to give my opinion. I feel weird about posting here now.lol.

LOL. Between threads from here being re-posted in the long hair forum, Target and other places all of sudden catering to naturals, and now this, there is definitely some Big Brother ish going on over here. Or just snitches
