I didn't subscribe to Chiselle's channel but I did see some of her videos. I wasn't aware of the hair cut and dye job though. Her hair was gorgeous. But if she chose to cut and dye it, what is it to you (gy, not anyone here in particular)? Why would anyone put that much investment into somebody else's hair? I agree that if some people were that invested in her hair, they have to have self-esteem issues and they need to work on accepting the hair they have on their own heads. SMDH.

I totally agree with every point you made.
I've never seen her channel, but I'm sorry to hear that she recieved such negative comments. Maybe someone can message/contact her and let her know that there are still plenty of (normal) people out there that don't mind the hair style change and benefited from her previous videos.

There are straight B*tches everywhere. On YT, on Naturally curly, on Nappturality, on LHCF, on people's blogs. B*tches gone be B*tches. You can't stop them. They are a FORCE of nature. All you can control is the opportunities you give them. I'm not advocating that people stop blogging if that's what they want to do (and I love your vids Empress!!! your like the perfect enabler ). But it should be common knowledge that B*tches ARE going to express themselves alllll over the isht you make public.
ETA: I agree with the deleting idea. You can control that. But you can't control what other people wanna type with their fingers (to me, it seems kinda ironic to imagine complaining about people projecting their feelings onto "your" head at the same time you want to project your ideas onto their keyboards).

Yeah, I wish she had done this or just disabled the comments altogether for awhile. True, her long hair (I think it was about waist length or a little longer) was on point, but her short hair is cute, too. I'll never understand why people get so upset when someone gets a haircut. Especially, natural women. We, of all people, should know that hair does grow back.

Maybe she was goin through more than we know in her personal life. I really don't see why she had to be so drastic in her response to some idiots' negativity.

i think it was also an age issue. inspired coils or koils recently did another big chop (bald). she got lots of positive comments. she is older than cc though.
i don't always read the comments but i have seen when someone gets in the negative poster's ish, they usually run and don't post anymore.

Like someone said above, if you're putting your image out there, you need to have thick skin. Quite a dramatic response, but maybe she got tired of putting herself out there like that?
that's one of the reasons that I would never become a hair blogger, youtuber, etc.

LOL okay guys...I think people need to have thicker skins OVERALL in life period, but that doesn't make it okay or excuse people when they act like stalker a-holes. Just sayin.

Many YT'ers live vicariously through the person they're watching... they want to be like them in every way, and when they make a change that isn't expected or not liked, it's a personal attack against the vlogger. Kinda like "why did you change?" What ppl don't realize is that once you're "on camera," your life and what ever entity you make known of yourself is under extreme scrutiny from everyone. The internet is a dangerous world... it's not poppies and peppermint all the damn time.
In the same breathe, vloggers need to develop a thick skin as previously mentioned and not take everything said to them or about them to heart. I know words can be harsh, and an onslaught of negativity can really affect the psyche, but if you put your business out there for the public to view, then you can only expect the negative as well as the positive to flow.

gone? are you serious?? omg, chiselle was so cool & dopee!
i know she said she didn't have a camera at one point bc she couldn't make videos & everyone assumed that she was ashamed of her hair & that she regrets she cut her hair, yada yada ya... it was soooo elementary of these ladies.
but wow, one good natural hair guru gone bc of insecure females vicariously living thru her hair.

She was one of the few people I watched because she is straight to the point and had creative styles. From what I know of her from her videos, I don't think she was the type of person "who didn't have a thick skin". In fact she addressed the cut in a video after people kept posting stuff and she was holding her own and didn't seem super offended. She had the right to do whatever to her damn hair and don't owe anyone a damn thing. People get tired of stuff all of the time. I shut down my FB page without notice and haven't looked back. She probably just got tired of being a slave to other people's expectations of her.
I agree to a certain extent that once you put yourself out there, you have to be prepared for opinions. I personally don't care for Kimmy's videos because she gets her panties in a wad when it comes to criticism. Still, no one deserves to be harassed for a personal decision.
