LOIS (OS); cottony, TYPE 4 hair, fine strands; no cones  bcz my hair hates them; last relaxer '98; ignores most natural hair rules; on BC #8 (i think) 
faves: no fancy products but love unrefined shea, castor & dabur mustard oil; ecostyler blue gel, aloe vera juice (spritz). hair keeps changing so rediscovering again!

last week my SO was killed...
This... is what happened and I've been just beside myself all day.. I was in tears when my husband came home. 
And since I've stopped crying I've been grumpy as hell.

Oh my gosh. First of all I thought for two seconds that it was her and I gasped out loud, then I read the rest. So sad. I usually don't read anything out of 4a, but it seems like we sort of know each other here personally. It hits home when you hear something like that. Now I will be thinking of them all night.

Damn damn damn I've known Subbrock from another hair board for about 5 years now so I'm extra upset cause I've seen her and her family. Omg I can't even imagine. And today is her birthday.

cali (chisellecouture) posted today explaining she did NOT delete her vids for that reason. honestly, it's ridiculous that she would even HAVE to make a vid like that. basically, she doesnt have a camera and she's reediting her videos w/ new music so she can become partner.
but youre right, ppl get wayyyy too sensitive about what other women do w/ their hair. thing is, i only really notice this in the natural air community. i guess it's b/c many naturals (NOT ALL OF US) are on a hair GROWTH journey and hate to see when someone w/ long hair gets a cut. i bet rusticbeauty would start Armageddon if she cut even an inch of hair off lol

How does a public embedable youtube video get "stolen?" and how can you complain that your video is posted in places you don't want? That makes no sense to me.

Though I agree that once you make yourself public, you lose most of your rights, I don't think you should be ok with whatever happens with your image. I am not sure where she landed, but some people will straight up use people's hair for their beauty salons or other promotional things without permission.
It may be ok in some instances for people, but not for others. When I went to fotkis ( before they started infected computers with viruses  ), people always have disclaimers about using their image. I think that holds no weight in the court of law, but people just hope that it won't be used. So since she couldn't control who was using her stuff, guess she felt that was one of the reasons she should take her videos down. As I said in my other comment, I took down my FB page for similar reasons. I didn't like how their privacy settings were allowing all types of stuff, so I opted out.

Pics from someone's album is one thing... A video of you talking and discussing something with an embedable link for people to post up anywhere they want is another.... By posting an embedable video on youtube you ARE giving ppl the right to post your video or links to your video. If you want a private video or then you have that option. I'm sorry I just don't get how your videos are "stolen" when you gave it freely to the world.

Yep, you are right if it can be embedded then I guess it is free range. I would imagine that people probably don't think about it until someone uses it against your wishes. With that being said, I still think it is shady for someone at a hair salon to use people's pictures as if they did the style themselves.

I've never been mad at somebody to the point where I'll make a mean comment... but at the same time if you put your business on YT and have a fan base then you're gonna have to realize that if you do something dramatic then you will be subjected to the backlash.
Heck look at what happened to that show Felicity back in the 90's when that girl cut her long curls! The show got canceled! LOL OK that's a bit extreme of a comparison ha ha
I don't know who this person is, but I can picture myself unsubscribing to her YT and getting all mad hahahaha
