I apologize....my reply wasn't meant to be geared toward you it was meant for divadee62 (divadee62 I just wanted to clear up what you had stated that's it ...) I thought that was who I was replying to in the first place. So I do appreciate your kind response coilynapp. To all who is reading this thread I just didn't want someone accusing me of lying when I'm not. that's it.

No one is going back and forth. I was being very kind in my response. I said that I was glad that you stated which products you actually made (after you saw this thread). I will say again, there is nothing wrong with using bases. No one was saying that you do not mix your butters yourself (you clarified this on your site, remember?). I was just pointing out that you can't say that you mix ALL your products yourself because that is misleading to customers

My statement stands as is and anyone who wants to compare the ingredient list on both pages can draw their own conclusions. :-)

Thank you Ri. I have no idea where you found that, but thank you. Otherwise, how are we to feel free to discuss on this forum looking over our shoulders?

HA!!!!!

I said I wouldn't go there.....

But seriously though, I am trying really hard not to be annoyed by what just happened. I mean I know she was "defending" her business, but I didn't think it was necessary to create a profile to discourage any negative speak about her business. You can't do that. Not everyone is going to like your products and have nice things to say about them. It makes me feel uncomfortable that people can't give their honest reviews on open forums like these because the businesses will just feel they need to come and shut things down. And no one was even being negative. Just because something isn't said in your favor doesn't mean its negative. It's a thing called constructive criticism.

+1. I so agree with everything you stated. I didn't see anyone being negative, also. I even posted a link to a positive review. I was/am a youtube subscriber of the owner and that's just the impression I got from when she said "when I mix my products" in her videos as well as her website, which she just said she corrected.

Agree with all you ladies...this has happened more than one time, and every time it does I feel like the Thought Police are after us.

While we're on the topic, would anyone be opposed of us dedicating a thread for naming companies who use bases, and which bases they use? I understand that there is nothing wrong with it as long as they let us know, but I think people should have the option of getting the base and playing with it if they want to.

I think that's a great idea.

I mean, technically if she's buying mixes and adding something, she is mixing it herself lmao but if she said she's making it from scratch then you're lying.

I can say I'm made a cake and used betty crocker, I still made the cake! Just not from scratch.

BUT....I'm sick of this sh*t. If the makers of my favorite products can't and don't post on here, I'll blow up anyone else on here. Especially when you want to get fly. Ain't having it, sorry.

Me, too. Cause' it sure is alot cheaper to go ahead and buy these bases directly than from the smaller companies who "doctor" them up and sell them at a their prices. (Not saying nothing is wrong with it, just to put it out there, so I won't be perceived as being negative.)

ohhhhh so this explains why/how we get fly by night posters defending a company, giving a rave review or only posting on threads concerning xyz products!!!!

if companies want to use bases, use bases. we've had this discussion many times BUT to come here and argue with potential customers or knowing that potential customers read said threads doesn't look too favorable on that company. ijs

Thanks, Empressi, for posting that bit from the rules. I'm sorry I was slow getting over here to this thread.

You're absolutely right; much as we love our manufacturers, they are not welcome to post on the boards for exactly the reasons many of you have outlined.

I've let ZBMomof3 know.

I'm in with this woman's products. I love...everything I have.

I didn't start with her two signature products, the Vanilla Mint Serum and the Green Tea Butter...I just recently purchased them.

Wow. I used the serum for moisture (after misting my hair with water), and "sealed" with the butter. Out of this world! I do most of my serious moisturizing/sealing at nite and sleep in a satin scarf. In the morning, I mist with water and add a little butter or cream (or oil).

Her products soften my hair...better than Qhemet and Afroveda. I can't even lie. It's like "crack" for my hair (may not work for yours, but my hair digs this stuff, like a grave).

I told you NEA, we may stand alone. LOL!! A friend of mine actually sent her ZB stuff to me a little after the blowup on this thread bc it didnt work on her hair. I wanted to try them.

I received the Citrus Shampoo, Vanilla Mint Moisturizing Serum and the Green Tea Butter. The poo smelled awesome and my hair always feels clean after using it, but didn't strip my hair at all.

The VMMS is DA BOMB!! I mean, I just can't say it enough. It defrizzes, softens, and has a tiny bit of hold IMO and I really like it for protective styling. It has glycerin in it so I hadn't used it for a WnG till last week where I took a risk and it HELD MY HAIR DOWN!! I didn't have any issues. I didn't need to refresh moisture until day 3.

The green tea butter is like any butter where a little goes a long way, it leaves a lot of shine, but isnt greasy/heavy at all. I've been sealing/ smoothing frizzies on my crown with it.

I liked what I had so I bought the conditioner, and the delight my hair LI and butter. We'll see how that goes, but the VMMS is a definite repurchase.

She should call the VMMS, "Liquid Hair Velvet".
Now, as far as her butters, they rank pretty high compared to other butters. They're non-gritty, very smooth and creamy, and they leave no greasy feel. They complete the softening process of her VMMS and DMHM.

You're exactly right about the "staying power" of her products. I usually moisturize at night, and touch up in the morning. If I break that routine a bit, I'm always covered with her..my hair is good until I can get back home.
