Hair Products and Their Bases

Damn, they raised the price of the 30 oz Organicals DCC. I had to look at my previous order to be sure. Yup, it was $17 something and now it's $22 something.

Wow this is a very informative and interesting thread, I read it from start to end. Took me a few days, glad I did. Learn a lot.

Thank you to the contributors for all the information provided in this thread .
WOW just wow. This thread! The nerve of some of these so called natural companies. I don't think there is anything wrong with using bases but to lie to customers, leave off ingredients, switch ingredients order around, lie about the long wait time etc...is just wrong on several levels. We all know the significance of the order of ingredients on labels. And to leave off ingredients, what if someone has an intolerance to left off ingredients. SMH. Then to claim these are all natural products when the ingredients in some bases are not is just wrong. All of this kind of make me wonder about safety of these products too. If they can lie and leave off ingredients, who's to say they are adding the correct percentages of some of these herbs, oils , and fragrances that can be toxic if not used correctly?

I remember that whole hairveda fiasco on LHCF too. How you were basically attacked by the stans if you had anything to say about the ridiculous wait time. I had ordered from them once around that time after that black friday sale in 2008 I believe and never again. One month wait for products that didn't' blow me away wasn't gonna happen again. To think all of that over products you can mix up your self.

I recently tried the vanilla silk from silk dreams and im just not blown away either. I can tell im gonna have to doctor up the rest.

Anywho this thread has definitely inspired me to start dibbling and dabbling in making my own products for my own use. What an eyeopener this thread was!
Wow can't believe I hadn't read this thread before!

I can see myself ordering some of that Organicals DC next year...

I'm sad that I cant try Organicals for myself. Salicylic acid dries my hair out. That is the reason the SM ABS Purification Mask is still three quarters of the way full. I like how it feels going on and after its rinsed out but the next day without fail my hair feels soooo dry.

This is such a good read. I am going to have ball with these site
I have the Organicals Deep Conditioning Creme in my rotation of products and like it fine, so I'm curious about the Touchably Soft Conditioning Gel which is also available from IngredientsToDieFor.com (Touchably Soft Conditioning Gel)

Has anyone used Touchably Soft Conditioning Gel, and if so, could you post a review? Do you used it as a base "as is", or do you mixed anything with it?

I'm not entirely sure of how my hair would do with a couple of the ingredients, but I'm anxious to find another styling gel I can add to my hair product rotation since I don't always get around to making FSG, and I haven't had good results with several popular gels/custards like KCCC.

I bought seven of their products, so far I like both gels (Touchably Soft and Curl Defining), the Marshmallow Moisture Balm and the Intense Reconstructing Creme (used it as a leave in and my curls "popped" yesterday.)

I am thankful to have read this thread. However it does not surprise me that many of these companies are using these bases. It is unrealistic to think that these products that are mass produce are made without any additives, what makes our hair so special. We see products that many other races utilize filled with ingredients that we cannot even begin to pronounce. we in the Naptural community are moved by product names. But what we should be looking for is "what works for me?. the producers know how "we" frown on additives so some of them are less than honest and leave stuff out. NOT A GOOD THING, because like someone said, what if someone had an allergy? I have no problem with bases. I am a realist. unless we want goods that go bad on us because of the natural ingredients in them...no shelf life...then there is bound to be something added.
