For My DMV Girls I Found A Great Store!

Like Tree1Likes

Ladies! I had to share this just in case some of you didn't know about it. For a while Qhemet listed on their site that their products were coming to a store in Silver Spring soon. I was on their site today and The Hair and Body Boutique was listed. In addition to QB they sell some other known brands like Bee Mines, Donna Marie, CURLS, Darcy's, Mixed Chicks, My Honey Child, Taliah Waajid, and others I haven't heard of. They just opened in July. I could get into some trouble here !

Have any of you been to the HBB lately? It seems they are having trouble making enough sales off of hair and skin products and will not be ordering any new stock until they can get the Remy Hair sales up.

They are having a sale on certain lines this weekend so please do support them if you want the store to stay in business.

(I'm not in any way affiliated with the HBB, I just like being able to buy things on the ground.)

For example she had been waiting on Qhemets, HairVeda, and a few other lines to send in their shipments for weeks. She said she would order a certain amount from Qhemets and they would only send her some of it at a time... made no mention about weave sales affecting the stock.

They have a little sign at the register with the info on poor sales dated 5/23/11. I can see how this could be a difficulty as the prices for Remy and the usual hair products just don't compare in terms of revenue.

I noticed that she made comments about not adding certain items because they are struggling-- but then a few weeks later they will add some lines that I NEVER ever heard of.

Not sure what business strategy she is working with, but I think she may be making some crucial mistakes. Why load up on Miss Jessies, Carol's Daughters, and Kinky Curly when those can be found essentially anywhere now? Don't get me wrong, I think people buy them from there, but they are never out when I visit. Then some of these lesser name brands seem to collect dust in the store. I think her focus may need to be on mostly one area... not weaves, bags, and earrings. But hey, I never ran a business... so maybe she got this.
