Default Keeping DRY Hair Stretched??

Hey ladies!

I'm not a still sleeper so I for the life of me cannot get my braidouts to last for more than 2 maybe 3 days. I end up with a curly little fro which I still like but my hair starts to shrink more and more as the days go on.

Do any of you ladies have any tips or tricks to keep dry hair stretched? My hair is just shy of being able to pineapple. Tonight I'm going to try using clips to pull my hair up (pineapple-esq) and keep close to my head to keep it stretched throughout the night. The fact that I toss and turn a lot when I sleep doesn't help, so I've been trying to think of sleep proof solutions .

TIA!

I use this method:

She uses hair ties but I use two goody ouchless flex barrettes instead. They are super comfortable to sleep in and don't snag or pull my hair at all. In the morning I just fluff and go. Usually on day 3 or 4 I need to spritz with a little water, moisturize and seal so I'll just go ahead and re-braid or re-twist it up so that it stays defined and stretched for the rest of the week.

This method works for me in the cooler months but if it's summer/crazy humid and I'm spending a lot of time outside... I have to pretty much re braid or twist my hair every night if I want it to stay somewhat stretched.

I agree, re-braiding is probably a good idea. I toss when I sleep too, so I never wear my hair loose at night. Normally, if I am wearing a braid-out style, I will put my hair in a few big braids or make a center part and create 2 puffs and cover with a scarf every night.

Some ladies have had success with just sleeping on a satin pillowcase instead of manipulating the hair.

i just spray my hair w/ a little bit of water and replait my hair each night. if i'm feeling really lazy i'll just do some big twists. if i dont rebraid/twist it every night, it's a shrunken mess in the morning.

ETA: when i twist it, i do it very loosely to not disturb the definition.

Ah, okay that was going to be my next question for rebraiding.
