Are there any products/brands you just refuse to ever purchase?

Most of the companies I refuse to patronize have all been mentioned, so I'll just add a couple unnamed ones to the mix:

Curls --- overpowering scents
Donna Marie --- total disappointment this summer

Miss Jessie's - something has always stopped me ordering and I think it is price and ingredients. It's always the baby buttercreme I'm curious about but I can't bring myself to buy it. It may also be the line 'turn your kinks to curls'. I'm disturbed by this brand on some sub conscious level. It just doesn't seem like it's for me because I'm not a curly.

Any curl defining brand like Kinky Curly.

Bee Mine - again it's the ingredients and the inclusion of sulphur, all the growth stuff and I think it has a lot of coconut oil in the line. Nothing of theirs grabbed my attention.

Most lines that have butters as their only moisturisers so from MHC I only buy the Olive You Deep and would only ever buy the cons.

it blows mine that these women even agree to BE in these ads... like wtf?! even if i didn't know that the ad was gonna turn out like that at first, i'd be raising all kinds of hell until they pulled that sh*t out of every magazine or where ever the hell. don't yuck my hair b*tch!
So far I haven't and probably wouldn't buy any products with the word "curls" (or derivations thereof i.e. "curlz") in them. I'm sure I won't be trying most of the popular expensive brands (Miss Jessies, Donna Marie, Blended Beauty, Mixed Chicks, etc.) unless someone wants to give me one.

p.s my birthday is in March
"The challenge is to be yourself in a world that is trying to make you like everybody else."
"...rationality is not necessary to sell things.."
My staples: Mane n Tail (cowash), Garnier Fructis Sleek n Shine (leave in condish), Grapeseed oil or shea butter (sealing), Organic Root Stimulator Elasticitea (leave-in condish & light hold)
Many of the above (especially MJ - spending so much money of products that left my hair crunchier than a brillo pad makes NO sense whatsoever...), and Dr. Miracle's - I don't like the way the print ads portray black women and our hair.

Miss Jessies (cost), Blended Beauty (tried and didnt like), Mixed Chicks(just couldnt get into them), ABBA (not good at all), Carols Daughter (formula change), and ORS(no good).

Pretty much any line that charges too much money for a small package or lines like KeraCare who jump on the bandwagon about natural hair NOW rather than earlier.

-original-
Carol's Daughter- horrible smell and quality and definitely not worth the price

Burts and Bee's- Never Interested me

Jane Carter's Nourish and Shine- Too expensive

Giovanni's- Too drying for my natural hair but worked better when I had more relaxed hair

Yes to Carrot's Conditioner- Too drying but worked better on my relaxed ends

Organix- Brillo pad effect from the shampoo and conditioner

Bio Infusion- Smells real bad

Avalon Organics Rosemary- The shampoo left my hair matted and tangled, The conditioner smelled nasty and did nothing for my hair

Mega Care (cheap) Grape Seed and Vitamin E oil- artificial smells, diluted oils and greasy feeling.

Eco Styler Gel- made my hair hard and flaky. I also came to the realization that I didnt need my hair sleek back (which was more damaging to my hair because I used tons of gel and boar brush on my poor hair).

Yes I WAS a product junkie before I discovered the Shea Moisture line
.

I STILL LOVE my steamer!

Keeping it simple...
Miss Jessie's for all the reasons already mentioned.
Mixed Chicks . . . because the name irks me. I can't help it.

Second one...not so much.

And I FORGOT to say Miss Jessie's, like everyone else has already said. I'm sorry, but all the twisting and rolling and whatnot it takes? Heck YEAH your hair better get some curl! Still though, I stand by my belief that products that have a main objective of turning your kinks into curls aren't for me. Kinks ARE curls. Get it straight.

...Heh heh. Get it? Straight...awww.

That's all I got.

And +1 for Miss Jessie's. Never used it, but any product with those ingredients, should NOT cost $40!

Not sure why it didn't come up, but I was referring to that ridiculous Dr. Miracle's ad.

Just like everyone else...Miss Jessie's cause it's expensive garbage.

Carols Daughter, I tried her hair milk and it was crap. The Khoret Amen or whatever it is smells like pine trees and I can't stand watery leave-ins.

I don't know why but for some reason I won't try Mixed Chicks. Maybe I read the ingredients and didn't like it or something?

Some of ya'll aren't gonna like this, but I didn't like Qhemet either...I really wanted to but it was too greasy for me and I didn't notice any kinda positive change. But that was like 3 years ago maybe I should try it again.

Afroveda because I've heard all of the negative reviews and it's hella expensive.

I guess I'd say most of the "natural" lines. What's the point of buying a product that I can make myself in my own kitchen? I prefer the experience and joy of making my own hair goodies. So, I'd rather save the money and do it on my own.
