Weave?

Hey,
I really want some length to my hair, until it grows out. A friend of mine asked me if I have ever thought about a few tracks. So I was wondering if anyone has put weave in their hair since going natural? What kind of curly weave would I get? My hair is a mix between 3c and 4a. I would also like to know if it's best to sew or glue it in?

hi i don`t know what weave you should buy but i recommend that you sew in the weave b/c a lady that came to my mom`s salon had only some hair on her head b/c her sister put in too much glue in it and it was so tight so her sister pull out the weave to take it out,i think she had to go to the hospital i can`t remember but the lady came to the salon after months or a year after the incident.
Since going natural i have tried weave and my friend sewed it in for me. Just be sure not to let them sew it too tight because that can cause breakage.

Hair Type: small 3c patch in the center, mostly 4a with a patch of 4b at my temples
Shampoo: Suave daily clarifying ( when I feel that need)
Conditioners: AOHSR, MM, olive oil
Styler/Leave-in: SheaMoisture, Fantasia IC, HNS
i am also considering a weave to just give my hair a rest until i figure out what i want to do. plus a good friend of mine got some really good length while keeping her kinky then afro weave in.

what do i need to know? i'm going to get a sew in if i get it. what kind of hair? how long can i keep it in? is the hair super dry when you take it out?

ANY advice, guidance, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. i might get it done as soon as fri/sat of this week.

I always go back and forth with whether I want a weave, and the idea just scares me b/c I've never had one. Although I know some people react to weaves just fine, I have also read too many horror stories about weaves breaking off hair, and I would DIE if I took my weave out and my hair was all effed up! I decided to just get a wig for fun.

But, to the OP, definitely get it sewn in if you want one, and research the stylist to make sure they aren't going to sew it in too tight.

Sew in weave if anything. I personally hate weaves, so I get braid extensions. But the lady that does my hair doesn't do them too tight. But yeah. DO NOT GET GLUE. NEVER EVER EVER.

Definitely get a sew in. I'd NEVER EVER get any hair glued into my hair. That would be a disaster.

As far as what kind of hair to get, it all depends on your budget. Are you getting just a few rows in or most of your head? You want to get good quality if you want it to last for a while. Oh and just a tip, when you use the wefted hair don't cut the weft. Some stylists or whoever else does weaves use the cut and mold technique which is when they measure out a small section of the weft, cut a portion off of the weft and then sew it in your head. Well, that encourages shedding and that will make your weave not last as long

The hair you linked is def pretty, though. Their afro lace front looks awesome but it's $1,000!!! What!?
