2011 Resolutions
  • Stop doing "mini-chops", because I'm tired of hair. On a quest to get back to BSL stretched.
  • Use up the products I have. I have enough great/good/works just fine stuff to last throughout the year.
  • Toss/give away what I don't plan to use up.
  • Eat better, drink more water, and take my vitamin supplements consistently.
  • Start hair/life blogging again.

1) Quit Deep Conditioning
2) Find a shampoo that works for me
3) Practice pre-pooing with coconut oil. As of yet, I have no clue how one oils dry hair without tangles and breakage.

1. Healthy scalp.
2. Moisturize more often. I notice my hair is much softer when I moisturize more.
3. Take multis and eat more leafy greens.

-Keep hair healthy as possible. Frequent DCing, and just keeping it moisturized.
-Grow my hair to its full potential. (It was long (BSL max) nearly my entire life so I'm not used to it being so short. And with all this shrinkage...*sigh*
-Stop touching/handling it so freaking much.
-Stop obsessing over how much it is (or isn't) growing and just let nature do it's work.

I love this thread.

Healthy hair (moisturized, no/low fairy knots, no split ends)
Deciding a good detangling method
Retaining length as it grows
More henna treatments
Color my hair (red)
Learning/ experimenting with more styles, especially bolder styles
Developing better flat twisting skills, braiding skills
Rocking more two strand twists sets
Trying the three strand twist

-No flat irons for 2011! I'm trying to wait until January 2012 to straighten.

-I want to start trimming my hair every 4-5 months. I usually get so lazy going through all this hair lol

-I also want to try different styles

-I will grow my hair out until Dec. 2012 and then I'm done trying to have long hair lol.

I stopped DCing a couple months ago and haven't looked back since. I save time and my hair still retains moisture well.

My 2011 Hair Resolutions

1. Moisturize more

2. Use protective/low manipulation styles

3. Retain more length by sealing/moisturizing my ends

4. Stop spending excess money on these natural hair products when I can make the same stuff at home

5. Appreciating my hair's uniqueness

6. Focusing on healthy hair and not just length

I just got a hair treatment this year and hope I can maintain and manage them throughout the year. The salon told me that i should have enough nutrients and supplements to maintain it.

1. DC weekly
2. Steam treat my hair 3 times a month
3. Find new "attractive" protective styles besides bunning! Attractive being the operative word!
4. Henna 3 times a month (I know that's pushing it!)
5. Drink 8 glasses of water per day.
