4b define curls

I'm so glad I found this thread! You are all my people!

If I wear a wash and go I always apply the leave-in and gel on soaking wet hair. I shake (shingling destroys the curls) until my head hurts (lol) and then do the circular motion on my hair with my palms and shake again.

I classify my hair as 4b because if I just let my hair dry not a curl/kink/coil to be seen...
why define them?

I recommend a twist out. Try using shea butter on your ends and wrap the hair around your finger until the ends curl up. I've started doing that and my ends came out looking curly.
Texture: Fine
Porosity: High
Elasticity: Normal
Density: Thick
Curl Type: 4b

i am not sure that pure 4b hair has defined curls.

why are ppl trying to define the curls? To make it look like 3b or 3c?

to make 4b hair look defined a braid out or bantuknot out might help

Defined 4b hair does not look like 3b hair or 3c hair. My 3c curls are a lot larger and they hang down more. So, I don't think that the majority of people with 4b hair define their curls to make it look like another hair type.
I'm a 4a/4b girl and my hair is more so "coily" than curly. When I put certain products in my hair or wash it, big coils form throughout.

Some 4b hair already has definition of some sort. & why must we assume that we are trying to make our hair look 3b or 3c? Type 3 hair is not the only hair type that forms some type or curl, coil or has definition!
What is the difference between a curl and a coil?
