Just seal or use the ones with glycerin lower on the list. I'm wondering though, what do you use in winter if you dont own glycerin free stuff. I totally have to convert once the dews drop.

I dont WnG in the winter but for some reason this year I dont really feel like protective styling unless its kinky twists. I ordered new products that should be here this week so Im not getting kinky twists until then.

so I just tried to twist my hair and only did the very front. I have too much hair on my head and its becoming real clear that once I can bun easily on wet/damp hair , its a WRAP for me.

I want to WnG this week but looking at the dew its going to be high this week, so I took a look at all my stylers and they all have glycerin ( pretty high)in them

What are some non glycerin stylers you use?

ETA I just looked at some of my items im trying to use up.

Curly Kinks Coil Jam glycerin is far down on the list so i might be fine with that

JC Curl Defining Cream is low on the list as well

DB Curling Cream Gel i think its low on the list i think

I have Vigorol Curl Creme im trying to use up and that has glycerin 6th down. So I might be good for now

one thing i'm learning for me and trying to master the wet & go thing....keeping my hands out of my head is keep. i have a tendency to pull on my hair, then i end up searching for hair balls then i have a piecey disaster.

hands out of the hair = better wet and go results for me!

Aubrey Organics Mandarin Magic Moisturizing Jelly is glycerin free...gives clumpage....reduces frizz....soft hold

Flaxseed gel is good too

Lola that Curl Queen gave me a headache, I have never had that happen before lolol/ I was running around smelling like cologne.

Oh ok I will try some of the Califia pudding I have in my stash, didnt really care for the AO OMMMJ but hey I can give it a chance again. Im always open to trials

Thanks ladies!
Only just started doing these and I really liked doing them (it was so much fun!) but I got so many tangles and my hair shrinks a lot if it gets wet and doesn't get stretched out...the top of my head was okay though, I dont know if it's because the hair is a bit longer there generally. Anyone got any tips?
Hey

whats some winter time favorites for WnG's?

sitting here day dreaming of doing my hair
And if anyone has some ideas for glycerin-free stylers for the fall and winter, I would appreciate. I run into this every year about this time when all of a sudden, there is NO moisture in the air. I probably have a few in my stash but need to be reminded. I see earlier someone recommended AOMM and I am about to revisit that tomorrow.

I like to take a leave-in like Beauticurls or whatever and mix that with a little castor oil and apply all through my hair...then section off and seal the end with a butter or pomade (gonna use my hair grease this winter)...then apply a small amount of a firmer holding gel mixed with AOMM or CIAB to the section and smooth through.
Some combos
CCCC with CIAB/KCCC or PMTG
Leave-in, Komaza Califia Cream, gel
Leave-in/castor oil, Califia Pudding/CIAB or AOMM
Leave-in/castor oil, KCCC
CCCCL/castor oil, SSFHG
Leave-in/castor oil, seal ends, PMTTG

I love Paul Mitchell Tea Styling Gel all year long because I can get it on the ground, it doesn't dry out my hair and it kills frizz....a litttle of this mixed with CIAB is great over CCCC...the tea tree smell does go away. CQ or FOTE mixed with CIAB is great too. Komaza shea butter lotion is a great winter moisturizer that can also double as a leave-in. Giovanni LA Looks strong hold gel is also a good winter gel that you can usually pick up in the store. SSFHG is also non-drying with good hold and i almost forgot FSG...you can make that.

Oh thanks for this. This is just what I wanted. I was thinking about just holding fast to my KCCC this season, which I still might do, but I really like the idea of mixing the AOMM with a firmer gel, and I am now dying to try the PM gel, since it's avaiable on the ground. One last question: do you use a glycerin-free leave-in or do you trust the castor oil to seal in all in?
