This really is a good and informative thread! I have a question regarding leave ins:
Does anyone use a regular condition (as in not a specified leave-in) as a conditioner? Like Herbal Essence or Aussie Moist, etc.? I've read that some may use it as a rinse out, but not rinse it out completely. Has anyone full on used it without rinsing? And if so - what were the results?

You have to look out for that with regular conditioners. I did this daily for a few years without issues. If your hair is finer, I'm not sure if it would weight it down. I also must note that I diffused almost daily too because it just took too long for my hair to dry (sometimes all of that conditioner can take a while to dry). I would think you're definitely looking for something thick enough to have some hold so it serves as a styler though. My hair looked really good with leaving in my conditioner, but it wasn't enough for me to get 3 and 4 days out of it. Some people could get overconditioned too so you have to just try and see how it works.

Good luck with your trials!
Currently using:

Poo: CON Sulfate Free poo
Rinse out: Tresemme Naturals
Leave-in: CJAOO Daily Cond
Styler: KCCC sparingly and Ampro Olive Oil Gel where needed
DT: KBB Lucious Locks Mask + EVOO/Avocado
I've been WnG'n weekly instead of every 2-3 days. Sometimes I water rinse in between but usually Sunday is hair day.

I do nightly refresh with something creamy to reset my hair and then ponytail for the night

working pretty good!
I would have thought using a traditional conditioner like HE or Garnier (etc) as a full on leave in would be drying, but I saw a YouTube curly hair tutorial the other day (by glamtwinz) with absolutely stunning results. She used the HE Hello Hydration, then pineappled and the next day results were bomb!
I never style in the shower because it takes forever to comb out my hair, so by the time I finish combing my hair (out of the shower) its a bit poofy. I'm wondering if I apply the HE conditioner if it will lay it down more, before applying my stylers...
(My hair is 3c/4a)
Once my hair grows out more so that I don't have the conditioner so close to my scalp, I'm probably going to go back to leaving in regular conditioner. I have to find a new boo though as my HE Dangerously Straight was discontinued.

I use regular conditioner as a leave-in. I seal with an oil over the conditioner. If I am going to apply gel then I do it after the oil. If I am not using gel, then I just shake my head and go.
Ive found that no matter what I do....I can NOT do a wash n go it just doesnt work for me

I'm team wng for now...I've been lazy and wng's allow me to be out the door with minimal effort and fab hair all in under 20 min. To my defense, I've been working out daily and its been hot / humid so the eco blue has helped keep the frizz at bay.
I'm able to wear a wng for days at a time with little to no upkeep AND I haven't had many tangles or fairy knots, so teach me the team wng chant please!
