New Hello Hydration formula?

Anyone have details on this yet? I saw the commercial a while back but forgot about it until I went to buy some more and the bottle had changed. Has anyone tried it yet?

Any info would be great.

Thanks!

People probably get tired of hearing me say this, but Herbal Essence's breaks out my skin so I can't even use it I remember being so disappointed because the conditioner was sooooooo gooooooood. Even the shampoo wasn't drying if I only lathered once (repeating, however, was never a good idea). STILL THOUGH, I don't want the new formula to be all bad for all the people who love it!! Everyone I knows raves about the stuff.

I don't know, I'm sure it'll be alright though.

Big Chop: 11/25/09
Cottony/fluffy, medium/coarse, high density & porosity
SL - APL - BSB - BSL - MBL - WL - HL
Another new formula?? Didn't they just change it last year or something? The bottle I have contains bis-aminopropyl dimethicone (I think)....which can be washed away with a non-sulfate shampoo. I like it, but it's not a HG for me. The "old" formula, which is still on some shelves, had cyclopentosiloxane (sp?), which is a cone that can only be washed out with a sulfate shampoo. I avoid that formulation.

In other words, I wish the Herbal Essences folks would pick one and stick to it! These multiple formulas are confusing!
4A - dense, medium strands - APL/BSL - 3+ years natural!

YAY!: GF Triple Nutrition Conditioner, YTCu Color Care Conditioner, Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque, LOTD AV Gel, EVCO, JCN&S, KCCC, buns and updos!
I haven't tried the new bottle, because I want sure if they changed the ingredients and "yup" they did lol. I'm not sure if the new ingredients are healthier or not?? Maybe someone who knows will chime in???

The new formula contains: Water, Stearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Cetyl Alcohol, Bis-Aminopropyl Dimethicone, Orchis Mascula Flower Extract, Zea Mays (Corn) Silk Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, Fragrance, Benzyl Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Blue 1.

The old formula contained:Water, Stearyl Alcohol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Dimethicone, Vanilla (Vanilla Planifolia) Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Milk (Coconut), Fragrance (Parfum), Glutamic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, EDTA (Ethylenediamine-Tetra-Acetic Acid), Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Citric Acid, Blue 1 (CI 42090)

Hope it helped..

Amine based silicones, once placed on the hair are not water-soluble and require a sulfate or betaine to remove. Examples of this are Amodimethicone, and Bis-Aminopropyl Dimethicone.

I guess this is only relevant to those who cowash only.

Thanks for all your help. Guess I'll try to find some of the old bottles and if not try to find something else. This was my fav conditioner for DD's hair.

The new formula is what I had when I bought this stuff last year...so I think it has been the same for some time now, unless they changed it again and have another new formula.

Yes, they did change the formula of HH. The old formula did not have cyclopentasiloxane in it. In any case, they added corn silk (protein) and sodium hydroxide to all of the formulations. It really sucks! I bought the last jumbo bottle of the regular formula from my local Target. Even in small doses I don't like the idea of using a product with sodium hydroxide in it. They use it in a lot of drugstore skin care lines, too. For example, Aveeno, Neutrogena, etc. I just don't want anything like that near my eyes and nose.
They sell a lot of HH I wonder why they keep messing around with the formula. It's really annoying. Perhaps they will experience a drop off in sales, and have to go back to the old formula.

I tried it yesterday. It doesn't lather up like it did before. That's about the only diff I noticed.

I found an old empty bottle, my ingredients read:

water, stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, stearamidopropyl dimethylamine, vanilla planifolia fruit extract, cocos nucifera (coconut) fruit extract, glutaminc acid, fragrance, bis-aminopropyl dimethicone, benzyl alcohol, edta, propylene glycol, methylchlorisothiazoline, methylisothiazolinone, citris acid, blue 1

I saw the commercial advertising the new formula in late January of this year.

Guess I need to find something else. *shrugs* Sucks though.
