Sometimes I've watched youtube reviews or I've seen reviews on blogs and if they have close ups of the actual product, it may look differently than the one I have. That doesn't mean that it won't work as good, or that it will be worse, but it's just something to take notice of.

Or there are times when I want to try a product but I want to know what it looks like and all that jazz. I don't understand why some companies don't post pics of the actual product on their websites.

Anyway, enough with the rambling! I'm not so sure what will come from this thread but I hope it's helpful to someone else. If you have a question about a product, feel free to post it here. I may have it and I'll show what I can about it (aside from doing videos...lol) I just love hair products.

Here's the first product: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab

I attached some photos below. I love the Curl Rehab and I consider it a staple, but here are my observations of this product. First, obviously the packaging is different. I have two jars and the older one isn't as vibrant as the new jar. I kind of like the new packaging better. I checked the labels and all of the ingredients are the same, word for word. So no need to worry if you have a different looking jar!

Secondly, the texture is creamy and it has a very wet texture to it. Maybe that's why I find it so moisturizing. But there's a hint of lumpiness in this conditioner. I can't put my finger on it, it's not granules or anything, it just feels kind of lumpy. Not a big deal...at least I don't think so. The newer conditioner looks darker than the older conditioner though. I wonder what that's about. They feel the same, but they do look a little different

Lastly, for now, I'll comment on the scent. Both jars are in the Strawberry Ice Cream Scent. Initially I wasn't too crazy about the scent, and I'm still not. To me, it didn't smell like strawberry ice cream. It smelled like strawberry... medicine. Actually kind of rancid. It's not horrid, and it's not a deal breaker, but the smell didn't leave me impressed. Well, that was the first jar (which I've had since maybe December). This new jar (purchased in April), it definitely smells like strawberry ice cream.

and I'm done now.lol

No wonder I ended up hating Curl Rehab! This was not the consistency of my product at all! It was grainy feeling...

I bought the Curl Junkie Curl Rehab on the ground from the 14 st. Ricky's in Manhattan. It was a pink color and smelled like rancid pepto bismol. The consistency was slightly grainy and resembled a pudding texture but lumpier. When I applied it it never absorbed in my hair. I couldn't use it as a leave in because it would feel like instant product buildup. Just this weird film sitting on top of my hair.

On the other hand the Curl Junkie deep fix that I got on another day from the same spot was amazing on application, upon rinsing out, and if left in. The only reason I cant use that anymore is that I realized fairly recently that my hair seizes up and starts knotting when I apply it now a days (it could be the protein?) I was using it once a week and sometimes twice a week w/o fail,

sounds like your jar was sabotaged.. somebody probably opened it in the store & tampered with it. Ive gone through about 4/5 jars of curl rehab all purchased from different vendors (curlmart, aveyou, curljunkie site) and I DID notice that the colors and consistencies have slightly differed (the last two were pinker & smoother) but theyve all performed about the same. I did order before and after she switched up manufacturers though so I just attributed the change to that, either way I never received "bad" products.

you should give it another try, like cocot first described it looks lumpy in the jar but is smooth! Should be about the same consistency as the deep fix!
& about the deep fix, didnt you say your hair dislikes honey? Its high up on the ingredient list.

I will try it again. I did notice sooo many people loved it and I wanted to love it too. Yes my hair does not like honey to my dismay, it makes my hair feel so soft on application, but if I detangle or handle my hair while it is in I get tangles. So you are right that is probably the issue with the deep fix.
