Default Summer care for your hair

Ok so summer is coming and I will be in north Carolina. Any tips, advice, or product recommendations for summer hair care?

Depends. What type of hair do you have texture wise? What's the porosity? How does it respond to protein, oils, gels, butters? How long is it? What products usually work for your hair and what doesn't? We need details, hun

I'm a 4b-er, so very kinky and doesn't hold a lot of moisture. I have not used gels or butters, only water, olive oil moisturizer and avocado oil. 6 months new at really caring for my hair but 2 years nat, which puts my length at collarbone. I'm not looking to take on someone's regime but some guidance for maintanence in hot weather.

I use products with glycerin in them, like Scurl and I also use castor oil.

I plan on doing lots of bantu knot outs and flat twist out updos to keep my hair off of my neck. Other than that, my routine will stay the same.

Thanks girls, it's 85 this week and my scalp is veeery dry. I have to wash my hair every 2 days(cowashing) and I'm drinking lots of h2o. Even gave myself a scalp scrub.

Thanks for the tips, I'm going shopping tomorrow I like the concoction in the spray bottle, maybe I will add some glycerin.

Hi...I've lived in North Carolina my whole life, welcome to our state. Yes, it is hot & extremely humid here. Glycerin based products will be your best friend this summer as it attracts moisture to you hair from the air. You can also add a lil glycerin to your own moisture mist of water & aloe vera juice.

I just finished my spring softball league and should be starting my summer season soon so I will be keeping my hair in two strand twists and have it grown about 2 more inches by the end of the summer
