Default NYC

Trying to find Eco Styler Olive Oil gel in the stores here in NYC. I've been checking regular drugstores. Popped into Conway today but they only had the pink and clear ones. I can't order it from Sally's then pay $6 shipping, makes no sense!! I'm going to check a BSS next (probably should have checked there first, lol!) or I have to wait until I need more stuff from Sally's.

No, argan oil does not smell like Moroccanoil. It's funny you like it, because that shows how fragrance is such a personal issue. I think it smells like a handsome man, so when I used it I kept looking around expecting to see a dude. It took me DAYS to realize it was me lol. Now that I think about it I guess I do like the scent, just not on me.
One'n' Only and Moroccanoil, and other treamtments like them are mostly silicone, fragrance, and a little bit of argan oil and other oils like grapeseed oil.

There are lots of ways you can use it. I only use a product like that once in awhile now because I avoid silicones, but I still use it in my haircolor. It provides slip and a little bit of conditioning. When I use heat to style, I put a small amount in my hair before blowing dry, and a little bit before I flatiron along with my heat protectant. I smooth a little on to control flyaway hair when it's straight.

I wear wng's daily, using Afroveda CocoLatte Moisture Mask, Donna Marie Dream Curling Creme and Curl Creme Brulee. My hair is so soft & curly to the touch, I don't know if I'll ever use gel again.

LMAO @ "handsome man"!! I sooo did not get that, but you're right, it's personal. How would you describe the smell of argan oil?

My hairdresser used it as finishing touch, she sort of tousled it in my hair after it was styled. Days later I was still smelling it. The pricepoint is nauseating though

Try this one: twice the amount for less money, smells good too and very good (also fair trade!)
DermOrganic Leave-In Treatment with Organic Argan Oil - Derm Organic - argan (moroccan) oils

I saw it recently in a CVS in Harlem. Corner of Lenox and 116. I was going to snatch some up but I'd just recently purchased the pink version and was trying to control my junkieism.

Thanks. What's hilarious is you would see various drugstores all over the place all the time in NYC, but they all morph into one in your mind and when you want to go to a specific one, you can't remember where it is! I mix up Walgreen's and CVS in my head all the time. I need to find the closest one to my job.

Is anyone having success as a 4a/b with low porosity? Ive tried wngoing, but my hair stays wet all day. I tried doing them at night, but they always end up lopsided. Is there any way to help the products/water absorb better so I don't have to go to work wet?

I love to wash-N-go because I love wearing my hair out. Mine usually last 3 or 4 days unless I do the Teri LaFlesh method, then it'll last a week.

I've been working the same wash n go all week (6 days). I washed it in braids, combed all my products through, and put my hair into about 12 pineapples before bed. Took the pineapples down in the morning, and scrunched some very diluted conditioner and olive oil in to get rid of the straight roots and sectiony look. I've been pinappling/braiding at night and scrunching in the morning.

I've done WnG primarily since I BC'd a little over 2 years ago. The shrinkage doesn't bother me. Besides I've discovered my hair tends to tangle more when I do some "protective" styles than when I do WnG.

I really don't have the patience or energy for twist-outs and roller setting etc...

Lately what I've been doing is this:
1. cowashing at night leaving in most, if not all, the conditioner in (yesterday v05 blackberry tea and suave coconut).
2. Towel blot (gently of course) adding castor oil and gel, everything in about 4 sections.
3.Let it sit in my hair for about an hour or so (to let some of the wetness go away)
4. When I get ready for bed I put it up in a low loose bun

When I wake up it will still be somewhat wet (that's just how my hair is) but it's stretched enough, it's full but not weighed down. I'm in love with my hair today. Lol I'm glad this thread was here today bc I needed someone to rave about my hair to =]

so happy, did my first successful wng since my big chop (april 12th) i figured out i get the most length if i smooth my hair bone straight in sections, shake and weigh down the ends with my clips for 10-30 mins. so far im on day 4 pineapple-ing with a scarf instead of hair bands. Too excited hopefully i can get another few days out of it...

I was THISCLOSE to buying the One n Only curl cream today. I LOVE the smell. Btw: LMAO @ the handsome man post!!!! lol.....but I wanted to get more reviews.

I think when I go back I want to try their curl cream as well as the Beyond the Zone Noodle Head curl cream.

I bought the L.A. Looks Nutra Curl gel yesterday and tried it today. It's not bad. It only cost a dollar and smells like a passionfruit starburst candy. It has a hold of 8...not as crunchy as the ESOO gel....well for me anyway.

It's a keeper it just doesn't enhance my curls the way the EcoStyler Olive Oil does.

I thought they sold it at Ricky's. I Know Taren916 uses it. She just talked about it in one of her most recent youtube vids.
