Default How do you like the shea moisture line?

Hi guys,
I was wondering if anybody tried the Shea moisture organic yucca & aloe thickening growth milk?

I've been using the curl enhancing smoothie and I love it. I've also tried the moisture retention moisture shampoo (love!) and the deep treatment masque (it's okay so far).

Le me know what you think and what you tried!!

The Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo is the only shampoo I use. It's moisturizing and cleans my hair without stripping my hair. I have used the Shea Butter Moisture Retention Conditioner as a leave in when my hair was shorter and I was learning what my hair likes and dislikes. I found that it was good but too heavy for my fine, thin hair. Or maybe I am just heavy-handed. I would recommend both products to 4b kinky-curlies.

@ Co Co Pelli, thx for sharing, when I get a chance, I'll try the conditioner because my hair makes love to the shampoo!!!

The thickening milk has nearly the same ingredients as the volumizing conditioner (and the conditioner comes in 12 oz bottles for the same price!) I like it as a leave in. When used in combination with the curl enhancing smoothie, it gives me very soft hold that stays moist for several days.

@sagehen
Curl enhancing smoothie is so freaking great!!! I make a concoction with it and add jojoba, olive & castor oil with a lil bit of aloe vera juice. THE BOMB!

I use the Shea Moisture shampoo and conditioner with the black label. I think it's called African Black Soap Balancing Shampoo and Conditioner. I've had them for a while and they're both great. I also have the Curl and Style Milk and the Curl Enhancing Smoothie and I like them both as well.

I might try this for the warmer months - thanks for the tip, because I went overboard on the BOGO sale @ Walgreen's. I have plenty to experiment with lol

I've had to coconut & hibiscus line for a while, so the curl enhancing smoothie is one of my staple's. I also like the curl and style milk during wash and go season. During the. BOGO sale I decided to try to African black soap line. I got the purification masque and the deep cleansing shampoo. Let me just say that I LOVE the purification masque. It's waaaayyy better than the deep treatment masque. :-) love this line, def a keeper

I'm waiting for the next sale to go nuts, but I have the smoothie. How do you ladies use it, for twist outs? A DC or LI?

I was asking how you ladies use the Smoothie, as a hairdress, for braids, as a LI or DC. Yes, from Montreal, but live in NYC now This has been my screen name in forums for over 10yrs.

I wear wigs, I haven't wore my hair out yet so can't help you on the hair dressing with the smoothie but I know for sure, it keep your moisturize and soft like butter

I use it on top of curl and style conditioning milk. I applied it on wednesday and today(friday) it's not dry dry but it could use a little moisture.

I've tried both of those products as well and found that it works really good on my hair and I think I have the exact same type of hair you've described. My hair never looked more moisturized than when I used the retention moisture mask as a styling cream.

I was relunctant to buy the Yucca milk because I already have thick hair but I love it. I think it's more moisturizing than the Coconut Hibuscus milk although I love it too. For me the Smoothie is just okay. I like it as holding product for twistouts but I don't find it moisturizing enough by itself. The Retention Conditioner I use as a leave in. The Retention DC I use as a leave in cuz it didn't do much for me as a deep conditioner. I also have the Coconut Hibiscus shampoo. That stuff is great. I had just about given up on shampooing because it would dry my hair out and tangle it so bad. I also discovered that what NC has been saying about using products from the same line together makes a difference. The last month or so I've seen a dramatic improvement in my hair and moisture retention. I'd love to try the black line but they don't sell it at my Walgreens. I couldn't even by the Yucca until I was visiting out of state.

When you say "using from the same line" do you mean within the SM line or within one of their sub-categories? Like all curl products or do you mix and match within the SM line, shea with a curl product, etc? Thx!
