Mini twist

How do u maintain mini twist and do u blow dry before u do them?
Mini twists are my all time favorite hair style . Right now my hair's not long enough for them but I wore them all the time before I BC'd. To maintain I would just spritz with my juices and berries spray leave in or just water, followed by a moisturizer everyday. Now that I'm more strict about sealing I'd do that as well with probably castor oil or now, with my new love, sapote oil.

I'd wash my hair with the twists in, deep condition, I'd pretty much do everything I'd do with mini twists as if my hair was loose and I didn't have to worry about the daily hassle of detangling or styling.

They shrunk and got frizzy but you can definitely prevent that by limiting the amount of moisture you expose your hair to (particularly water) and tying up your hair at night. I did them once on blow dried hair, actually the first time I ever did them was on week old blow dried hair. Typically though, I did them on damp-dry, stretched hair. I detangled and moisturized while I did them.

I got it from here: Anita Grant Organic Sapote Oil

It's unlike a lot of oils in that it's smooth, it absorbs quickly and it's non-greasy. It kind of reminds me of marula, avocado and tamanu oil, with the way it absorbs into my skin. But it doesn't leave an oily feeling at all, which oils like castor, grapeseed, olive, etc tend to do if you're too liberal. I like castor oil too though, it can just be a SOB when you apply too much and you'll be stuck with greasy hair or skin.lol (greasy skin is easier/faster to fix than greasy hair)

When twisting, my favorite combo was to use Qhemet Biologics amla and olive heavy cream with the honeybush tea soft gel. I liked my results with the oyin shine and define with coconut oil as well. But basically, I tend to use just a cream moisturizer and a light gel. Whichever one you prefer is fine.

You think gel would help with the frizzies?
