Hmmmm, maybe she didn't test out shipping it to a friend or someone before going live. Not even sure if that's something any small company does actually. Hey, it's a learning process. Great personal touches.
Actually in her response (which was within 20mins of my email btw) she said she did test out the shipping to family in a different state. She did offer me a refund or future discount...I declined but I do appreciate the offer. She is definitely hands on...A+ on the customer service!

Yes they were. and the cream (cupuacu) was over-full

As for consistency,

The Coconut Cream Conditioner is a little gritty, it is like the the texture of coconut when its not quite a liquid but no longer a solid; like bits of the coconut oil are still solid; its a bit loose for me. It made my hand feel wet.

The Hemp conditioner is much smoother and a little thicker than the ccc, honestly reminds me of oyin's honey hemp consistency and the smell reminds me of PBN Tahitian Vanilla ( i ordered island getaway). It made my hand feel soft.

The Cupuacu curl cream- is whipped and creamy. It's like the PBN cupuacu cream, but wetter because it's water based. I had it open and held it upside down for about 30 seconds and nothing came out. It made my hand feel soft.

Yup , in her response to me as well she said that she tested it out by sending it to family and friends. I think she just needs to 1. tape the bottles/jars, add some peanuts and 2. test out that coconut conditioner to see if its settling after sitting for awhile. I have 2 ozs of product in a 4 oz bottle OR make sure that the bottle was being filled correctly

ETA MontREALady ,I put a picture of the curl cream in Cocot thread ( product details thread), The coconut cream conditioner is very creamy and milk like. Very light weight , almost like Knot Today consistency, the hydrating hemp is thicker and creamier.

I agree she does need to perfect a few critical things...my package had peanuts and everything was closed tight but these steps need to be mandatory steps incorporated in her process all of the time. I'm optimistic....I darn sure hope my hair is optimistic too lol.

Since she did the ship test, maybe those were just unfortunate instances. The coco co seems to be an issue though. I may still give her a try. Thanks for the product info ladies. Anyone get the mango butter? I want the hemp and mango. Hemp sounds good.

But see, when you don't do that ("that" is whatever you're supposed to do, before you launch a product line), you end up spending more...now she has to ship out additional product, at her expense. You need to be very protective of your operating capital, when you're just starting out.

Folks need to slow down. I'm all about having your own and doin' your thing, but now I'm almost reluctant to order from a "brand new" company. I think I'll sit tight on this one, and let everybody else work out the kinks.
She said she prepped for a year. I think what she's going through other small companies go through in the beginning. I feel you on working out the kinks first. But at the same time she needs ppl to take that chance with her. I know that person doesn't have to be you, me or anyone and we can keep our money in our pockets, lol. One thing is her products are reasonably priced and her shipping isn't bad. I'm kinda on the fence. I'm with you AND I wanna give her a shot. When I get a review on the mango butter, lol. Hope everyone is testing these out tonight! :P

Yeah...well there are folks who will take a chance on her, and others who will wait.

But, after the Ambrosia situation, I'm going to be less "vocal" about my excitement. Like I said earlier, you go out the world backwards, when you have to keep sending out new products, at your expense...because you sent out half-filled bottles of product.

This is not a bash...but an alert. My thing is slow down, get your check and balances in order...then proceed. I think if she follows that advice, she'll come out ahead in the end.

I say keep being vocal. I like hearing what excites people. If it ends up not exciting me in the end thats on me. ITA though about being as optimized as possible, but things happen despite good intentions.

Your first paragraph, exactly what I said, I agree. I wasn't around for the Ambrosia situation, but now I totally see why you feel the way you do.

I'm really tempted by Coconut Creme Conditioner. I need a new water based leave in and that looks like it would hit the spot.

My items arrived full and ready to go. I chose mango as my scent but it wasn't what I was expecting. Smells more like perfume than tropical. The Sweet tropics scent rocks though on the creme!!

TBC...
