Default Ayurvedic Hair shopping!

So....today I was in Jackson Heights (Queens) and went to the Butala Emporium to check out their merchandise....I ended up getting:
  • Fenugreek powder
  • amla powder
  • Reetha powder
  • and something called Nupur- 9 herbs mixed together to give you "shiny + silky hair"
the Nupur comes in a pouch and has Shikakai, aloe vera, Methi, Bhringraj, amla, neem, hibiscus and Jatamansi in it. I am excited. I will do some research to see how to use these things- any other curlies with any experience with these products, please chime in!

is the nupur henna? Make sure that it's not otherwise you will have staining if you don't use gloves

No henna listed on the ingredients...but thanks for the tip. I will stick with cassia for now, as my hair color is just how I like it. I am afraid to bronze in the summer sun! I ended up ordering Cassia from hennasooq.com- could not find it in the four indian suppliers i checked in Jackson Heights.

I love nupur henna , its my all time favorite!

Fenugreek is wonderful , its an all natural conditioner that you can use alone or add to your amla to give it extra slip. Warning fenugreek will harden if you dont cover your hair with a plastic cap while conditioning, it wont harm your hair if it hardens but you will have to keep your hair under the stream of warm water to get it all out. I love mixing it with all my ayurvedic herbs

reetha ,i dont use a lot because its super cleansing. Make sure if you use it ,you add amla or anything moisturizing to combat the drying effect it can have

Thanks Shawny- I read on another forum that Reetha can be mixed with a condish, and left on hair under a plastic cap for 1 hour and rinsed out? That helps it not be so drying?
