I would highly recommend Curl Junkie Deep Fix or Curl Rehab as a dc. Repair Me is a good dc too that has protein in it.

Kinky Curly Knot Today, Curl Junkie Aloe Fix Gel are good gels. EcoStyler also makes awesome gels. I like the olive oil one the best. But, they're all pretty good. They're also cheaper and easier to find than KCKT and CJAFG.

Sorry, I can't really give any advice on protein treatments because I don't use them. If I need a protein boost, I just use a dc that has protein in it.

I don't know where you live but Walgreen's has a great selection of products now. Also try Target, Whole Foods, and Sally's.

A good protein treatment can be found right in your kitchen. Yogurt (the full fat kind is great). I mix it with regular conditioner or with oils and honey and it works well for my porous, color-treated hair. Also, don't overlook the power of an egg. If you need a serious punch of protein, mix an egg and some yogurt, some honey and oils, let it sit under a shower cap (I don't process the egg treatment with heat).

I add oils and honey and maybe some coconut milk to my regular conditioners and either sit under a plastic cap for about an hour or just process with heat for 20-30 minutes.

I also like Aubrey Organics GPB treatment for a protein fix, or their Honeysuckle Rose or White Camelia for moisture. I use them on dry hair under a cap for at least 15 minutes, according to the instructions on the bottle.
