I'll give you $100 for you hair...
Imagine that you've been on your healthy hair journey for 15 years and you have butt length hair, but you want a change. So, you announce on your favorite hair board that you will be doing another big chop. A member sends you a message offering to pay you for the hair you cut off so she can use it for extensions...
Would you sell your hair?
Why or why not?
If yes, for how much?

$300... my hair is valuable. some good virgin remi would run her like $400. she's getting a discount.
i'm not really attached to my hair, so if some creepy creeperton wants it, she can have it... for $300.
actually... she can have half for $300. i'm sure she can still do a decent weave w/ half... or she can pay for the other half.

butt length? I'd have to factor in the cost of the barrels of conditioner that would help retain that much.
....also the price of my patience and restraint.... not doing something dumb to the hair too.
like a pain & suffering from monotony fee
.....i can't imagine anyone else wearing my hair around ...that's kind of weird. almost like an organ transplant.
i guess in india, it's not so odd.

I'd feel weird about giving my hair to another person on a hair board I frequent, b/c they'd be posting pics and in my mind I'd think, "Heeeey, that's my hair!" So no. But I'd sell it...like keeny said, $300 sounds pretty good.

Oh my lawd. I'm 5'7, so butt length hair seems like a TON of hair, especially unstretched . Nooooo way. I would probably be itching to chop it off, so I'd do it for free/donate. However, if I were to sell it, I'd want more than 500. Just because I'm sure some crazies will pay a lot for long 'virgin' hair. I was born I Pakistan, so maybe I can play the Indian Hair card. LOL. I'm never growing my hair that long though. Too much for me.

Honestly, I'd probably donate it to Locks of Love before I would sell it. They make free wigs for people with cancer. I've seen some people grow their hair out to to donate but I doubt I'd ever have the patience.

I've heard Locks of Love also sells their wigs, depending on the patient's ability to pay.

Ummm that's weird... I wouldn't want to see someone post a pic of their new sew in and see my hair on their head lol plus they could do voodoo on me .... I'd make my own damn wig before I'd sell it to someone

Lol I was just thinking about how much people spend on human hair meanwhile people on hair boards BC all the time.
@Saila: There really are people out there who would pay more for hair.
@keenylicious: You are too funny!
@PP: I had not even thought about conditioner hahaha
@Elle: That's true lol Would you sell it on Ebay or somewhere else? lol
I don't think I would sell my hair. I would rather make my own wig lol I'd be worried about voodoo too.

Nah I'd have to sell it to a company or broker...that way whoever wearing it didn't know anything about me or where it came from.

To make the hair personally identifiable, you would need the hair follicle (root) to test the DNA. I am not sure if this fully eliminates voodoo concerns though.

LOL. Voodoo = no hair follicle needed. I don't need some creeper on eBay buying my hair then putting spells on me.
