Product Specs: ingredients and uses...

Hello. I'm bored so here goes..

1. What ingredients do you avoid in your products and why?

Silicones and mineral oil/petroleum because they make my hair crispy.

2. What ingredients do you want to be in your products and why?

Humectants of any kind. My hair loves humectants. They make my hair soft and squishy. Lol

3. What texture/ consistency do you like your products to have??

Rich conditioners. Light lotiony moisturizers. I've given up on butters unless they are water based and easily diluted.

4. How long do your moisturizers, refreshers, pomades, butters last you? (We all know that conditioner goes fast)

I have no idea. Lol as a pj I never. Really run out of anything so it takes me a while to empty aa bottle/jar. I'm working on that though.

5. Are you a bulk stocker or do you only restock items as you run out?

Ummm...usually I restock individuals but once I have my hg/staple list in order I will bulk order online items.

6. What 5 products do you need in your life (not including shampoo/cleanser)?
Ummm... Oyin Hair Dew, JBCO, gvp balm, Coconut milk, Long aid gel.

7. Have you ever hated a product so much that you threw it away instead of sellin, swappin etc? What was it?

Umm...more than one but the olive oil lotion by ORS. That ish made my hair hard and greasy than a mofo. Slammed dunked that one in the trashcan. Lol!!!

8. what dream product are you waiting for to be formulated?

Ummm..a creamy moisturizer in a jar that I can use on dry hair. Lol. Wishful thinking...oh well.

9. What is the most versatile product in your stash?
Shea Moisture curl n style milk. Leave in, moisturizer and styler all in one.

10. What one product would you recommend to a new natural and why?
Oyin Hair Dew because it is the bizness. Lol

1. What ingredients do you avoid in your products and why?

Silicones, mineral oil/petroleum. I don't like for those ingredients to be in my stuff. I'm not afraid of them as I used to be when I first started using all natural products, but I just don't like them.

2. What ingredients do you want to be in your products and why?

I actually don't find myself looking for a specific ingredient to be in my products. I've yet to isolate specific ingredients. I don't think particular ingredients matter because it's all about the formulation.

3. What texture/ consistency do you like your products to have??

For my DC's, I like them to be thick and make my hair looked coated when I apply them. For

4. How long do your moisturizers, refreshers, pomades, butters last you? (We all know that conditioner goes fast)

My Qhemet stuff gets used up the fastest because it's my holy grail and I use that stuff the most frequently, but they still last a good while (4 months +/- per jar). It depends on what I'm doing to my hair though. I'm also pretty generous when I'm using products so that plays a role in how long stuff last me. And if I have more than one in my inventory, I'll be more inclined to be less stingy when using stuff. But having inventory kind of skews my perception as to how long stuff last me because it's like I never run out.

5. Are you a bulk stocker or do you only restock items as you run out?

I try to buy as much of my favorite items as I can which is why I look for sales, especially since most of my favorites are online. I like to stock up on Qhemet definitely. I wouldn't say I'm stocking in bulk for anything though.lol.

6. What 5 products do you need in your life (not including shampoo/cleanser)?

QB AOHC, QB CTDG, Sapote oil,... I need my Deity plant shampoo And I've broken up with Oyin so my top 5 list has changed
7. Have you ever hated a product so much that you threw it away instead of sellin, swappin etc? What was it?

Yes, plenty. Hairveda conditioners come to mind immediately. I tried to sell/swap them but I ended up just throwing them out.
8. what dream product are you waiting for to be formulated?

A product that cures my scalp so that it never itches ever and makes my hair never tangle and keeps it moist forever and melts knots and mends splits
9. What is the most versatile product in your stash?

N/A
10. What one product would you recommend to a new natural and why?

QB CTDG. Its the best detangler and moisturizer I've ever used. My sister's hair was dry as a brick and I remember when I gave her a jar of this stuff, it changed her hair. Finally figured out shea butter isn't her friend. Brought a tear to my eye.lol

1. What ingredients do you avoid in your products and why?

At this point in my journey, I don't really avoid anything. i used to avid silicones and minerial oil, but lately, I've found that in small doses, they are not that bad. I tend to pay attention to where silicone and mineral oil are in the ingredent list though....if they are not in the first five ingredents, then I'll give it a try.

2. What ingredients do you want to be in your products and why?

I tend to look for rich butters, oils, and humectants. If a product has these things, I can usually guage how it will affect my hair.

3. What texture/ consistency do you like your products to have??

I like creamy moisturizers/stylers. I don't use gels that often and when I do, I mix them with a creamy moisturizer to make a more pudding like product. Leave in conditioners have to be thicker, but still able to be absorbed by my hair. Deep conditioners have to be substantial...there's nothing worse than a deep conditioner that I have to slather on because it doesn't feel like there's anything on my hair.

4. How long do your moisturizers, refreshers, pomades, butters last you? (We all know that conditioner goes fast)

I go through products fairly fast....partly because I'm a bit heavy handed and partly because my hair sucks everything up. A liter bottle of conditioner can last about 6 weeks if I'm washing weekly...if I'm washing by-weekly then it lasts a month. An 8oz bottle of leave in and/or creamy moisturizer lasts about 4 applications. It takes about 2oz of leave in/moisturizer/styler to completely cover my hair.

5. Are you a bulk stocker or do you only restock items as you run out?

A bit of both. If there is a product that I LOVE, I try to keep at least 2 bottles in stock (not including the one that might be in use). I stock up during sales to keep prices reasonable. If I'm able to buy an item on the ground (which for 90% of my products I can) then I take advantage of that as well to save on shipping.

6. What 5 products do you need in your life (not including shampoo/cleanser)?

QB AOHC, Oyin Hair Dew, Fantasia IC, Shea Moisture Leave in, and castor oil

7. Have you ever hated a product so much that you threw it away instead of sellin, swappin etc? What was it?

Believe it or not...no. conditioners that I hate become shave gels or I add a lot of oils to them and use em as pre-poos. Moisturizers/leave ins that are not enough I dilute, add oils to and make into refresher sprays. Stylers that are "blah" I mix with oils or butters and try to "sup" up OR I just reserve them for days when I'm not going anywhere and i'm just around the house.

8. what dream product are you waiting for to be formulated?

I'm waiting on a product that melts tangles, mends split ends, and moisturizes for days on end.

9. What is the most versatile product in your stash?

Qhemet AOHC without a doubt. It works as a leave in, moisturizer, styler and refresher.

10. What one product would you recommend to a new natural and why?

Qhemet AOHC. Most naturals LOVE it...the only complaint that most have is that it can be a bit heavy...in which case the BRBC is an alternative.

1. What ingredients do you avoid in your products and why?

Mostly mineral oils and 'cones because they dry out my hair. I avoid glycerin when the dews are too low for the same reason. Beeswax and vegetable emulsifying wax are too heavy for me. I do stray every now and then, but always follow up with a shampoo.

2. What ingredients do you want to be in your products and why?

My hair loves castor, coconut, hemp seed oils, cetyl alcohol, aloe vera juice...

There are others, but I cant think of them right now.

3. What texture/ consistency do you like your products to have??

I prefer my leave-in conditioners to be a little on the thinner side, rinse out conditioners to be a little thicker. Butters have to be water based and not too thick - at least if they are water based I can dilute them.

4. How long do your moisturizers, refreshers, pomades, butters last you? (We all know that conditioner goes fast)

Depends on the product, about 2 months at the very most. Moisturizers last about a month on average.

5. Are you a bulk stocker or do you only restock items as you run out?

I usually get getting new items as I run out. I rarely have more than one of the same item unless I got it in a BOGO.

6. What 5 products do you need in your life (not including shampoo/cleanser)?

Oyin Hair Dew, castor oil, aloe vera gel, cupuacu butter and a style gel of some sort for those bad hair days.

7. Have you ever hated a product so much that you threw it away instead of sellin, swappin etc? What was it?

Cantu Shea Butter.

8. what dream product are you waiting for to be formulated?

I dont know. Maybe something with argan oil, cupuacu butter, aloe vera juice to start...

9. What is the most versatile product in your stash?

"Shea Moisture curl n style milk. Leave in, moisturizer and styler all in one." (same as yours!)

10. What one product would you recommend to a new natural and why?

Shea Moisture Curl n Style Milk: Leave-in, moisturizer, light styler, cheap and you can get it on the ground.

1. What ingredients do you avoid in your products and why?

Silicones, mineral oil/petroleum, emulsifying wax, beeswax, lanolin. Heavy scents.

2. What ingredients do you want to be in your products and why?

lactic acid, sodium lactate, cetyl alcohol, lots of conditioners, slippery elm, agave, sugar derivatives. I have very porous hair that doesn't hold moisture. Plain old butters and oils just don't cut it. If a product doesn't have a least one of the above, I skip it.

3. What texture/ consistency do you like your products to have??

Creamy. Hate buttery products.

4. How long do your moisturizers, refreshers, pomades, butters last you? (We all know that conditioner goes fast)

About 6 months

5. Are you a bulk stocker or do you only restock items as you run out?

The only line I bought in bulk was Botanical Spirits because they rarely have sales.

6. What 5 products do you need in your life (not including shampoo/cleanser)?

Haven't nailed it down yet. Although I buy BB soft curls on a regular basis.

7. Have you ever hated a product so much that you threw it away instead of sellin, swappin etc? What was it?

Donna Marie products and Hairveda. Afroveda butters and conditioner samples.

8. what dream product are you waiting for to be formulated?

A product that melts tangles and gives me moisture for days. It has to be creamy with lots of slip. I don't know why BB doesn't make such a product.

9. What is the most versatile product in your stash?

N/A
10. What one product would you recommend to a new natural and why?

Don't know
Ah...to be a well pampered pootiecat. I can sleep on my owner's lap. Roll over on my back when I want my stomach rubbed. Purr with delight. Suddenly jump off and walk away for no reason. Not respond when I am called. Throw my leg up and lick with intense abandon. Sleep 85% of the time. Hang my head off the couch and view the world upside down.
I think I might get samples of QBs ghees, hydrating balm and the twisting cream if its available in a sample size.

1. What ingredients do you avoid in your products and why?

'Cones, mineral oil, petroleum and heavy "earthy/perfurmey" fragrances...no real reason for avoiding them my hair isn't very picky but my noise is very sensitive to harsh scents.

2. What ingredients do you want to be in your products and why?

3. What texture/ consistency do you like your products to have??

Rich thick conditioners and water/aloe vera based butters/pudding.

4. How long do your moisturizers, refreshers, pomades, butters last you? (We all know that conditioner goes fast).

7. Have you ever hated a product so much that you threw it away instead of sellin, swappin etc? What was it?

Botanical Spirits....peppermint mud hair mask. The smell was horrible...opened the box...straight to the garbage and have been reluctant to try all of the other items I ordered.

8. What dream product are you waiting for to be formulated?

A creamy moisturizer/styler that prevents split ends, fairy knots and promotes super thick hair growth.

9. What is the most versatile product in your stash?
Right now its the Mozeke Grapeseed Detangle Me....leave-in, detangler, style refresher and heat protectant...that can change at a moments notice lol

10. What one product would you recommend to a new natural and why?
Oyin Honey Hemp....the slip is outstanding which makes for an easy detangling session which can be daunting to a new natural.
