Curl Junkie build up

Has anyone had issues with their conditioners (or any conditioners) leaving build up on their scalp? I normally only have to shampoo once with a cleansing con (Daily fix) or sulfate free shampoo, but with these I've had to wash twice. I use about a dime size amount of the smoothing conditioner 1 a day or every other day depending on how my hair feels. When I wash I get this thick white build up. It's gotten to the point where I have to use my nails, which I know is bad, but it can't be helped. I usually don't use anything on my scalp this time of year since it gets a little oily on it's own, though my hair doesn't. Any tips?

This is one of the reasons I rarely cowash, and if I do it's with daily fix. In the summer, daily fix in my hair rarely needs a leave in (if i do use one, it's lighter than SL thats for sure). I don't stack CJ products in general, but especially won't without clarifying first.

Also, are you rinsing the daily fix totally out? I could see buildup happening that way. Its pretty thick.

That's never happened to me either, and I've had two bottles of the Smoothing Conditioner. I definitely didn't think it was thick enough to leave buildup. What products are you using with it?

Strange thing is my hair felt dry (crunchy) after it absorbed.

@Naturalista
I'm not sure. I figured my hair might be high porosity since my hair seemed to suck up product. Before the last trim some of my ends had holes in the strands, that's only time I put heat to my hair. Last year I didn't use creamy leave-ins, I always used a spray/detangler then applied something on top to seal. Sometimes the leave-in just sits on my hair so I put a plastic cap on for an hour and it's absorbed by then. I'm still fairly clueless about my hair.

Well Kinky Curly used to cause build up, the same way Eco Styler used to. So maybe they are reacting once the water hits it when you rinse. What shampoo are you using? Even if it's sulfate free does it have a good cleanser?

I think it might be the smoothing conditioner. Its super thick. I can't use any leave in after. I had to stop using it period and opted for some of her thinner conditioners.

Remember that curl junkie condtioners are really effective. So layering conditioners might be too much. Also daily fix has really good conditioning properties.

Just my quick thoughts.
