Default Looking for non-greasy pomade type product...

so that I can twist my hair without having fuzzy/frizzy roots.... Apparently the water-based products I had been using (like aloe vera and fuzzbuster gel) has been giving me puffy roots for the twists, regardless of how tight I start the twist.

My hair does not tolerate oils well, so something like the Elasta Mango Butter wouldn't work very well for me. A health food store option would be nice.

Thanks.

Maybe Jane Carter Nourish & shine I believe that is a pomade type product ? It's available at some whole foods.

Ok... it's SOOOO FUNNY that you suggested that product because I was JUST at Whole Foods this morning and got a similar product (John Masters Hair Texturizer) and I'm like because it was $20 for 2 oz. and I knew better so I wanted to get some recs before I returned this product. Only thing is that the Jane Carter stuff is the same price but for MUCH MORE PRODUCT so maybe I should just go ahead and exchange it for the JC Nourish and Shine....

ETA: Jane Carter has a Twist and Lock gel...that's what I meant that I should get. Or do you think the Nourish and Shine will work?

I have never tried the Jane carter stuff, but I have heard good things about her products. I have tried the john masters but you are right it does seem outrageously priced for the amount you get. If you do try the Jane Carter Please post a review. Good Luck

I use Luster's Short Looks Gel Creme. It's great because it holds my hair like gel and controls frizz with out being greasy. It leaves my hair soft and shiny and not hard.

I have some picks of my hair twisted using it on my yahoo photo page. Check it out and tell me what you think.

This product is affordable too...only 6 dollars at the drug store.
Here is a link to what the product looks like.

Thanks! I took a look at your fotki. Very nice two starnds. I never two strand twist my hair. I don't like how it looks and my hair is so curly that if I do small sections, the twists coil up and look like single strand twists anyway. My hair is longer now so I might start trying the two strands again.

P.S. I forgot to say that I use a regular gel in my hair with that gel creme by Lusters that I mentioned.
