Great conditioner for me, but has anyone had problems with this?

I found a great deep conditioner called Hask Henna N Placenta. Do you like it as much as i do? Are there any long term side effects?(I heard if used to often it could cause cancer) but that is all so far

For ME:
I thought i had 4b/c curls until i tried this as a Deep conditioner, now i'm not sure if my hair is 4b or 4a because my curls are so defined. I used this Deep conditioner in my hair(for about 30min/1hour) then i washed out and blow dried and now (after 2 weeks) my hair is still conditioned very well. I kept my hair in a 2 part pony tail for about that same length of time, but every other day when i took my hair down to comb it, very little shedding would occur, also my hair would still be moisturized. This is by far the best Deep conditioner i've found. And i've tried many.
BTW
For when i wash my hair i use any shampoo(just to clean out oil and residue) so typically head&Shoulders then i use the Hask Henna N Placenta deep condition for 30min/1hour then i wash it out and use another conditioner called Smooth as Silk Deeper Moisture Conditioner by Giovanni as an aid for detangling. I part my hair as i detangle and make big braids(about 6-8 braids), I leave that in for about 5-10min then wash out with braids still undone.
Then i unbraided and blow dried.

Also 2times a week(even when blow dried puffy(not straight) i put oil called Hollywood Beauty Olive Oil.
That is it

The Henna N Placenta is only $0.99 a pack at Walmart where i live and if your hair is really thick and arm pit length(like mine) then you need 2 packs.
The most expensive thing i used was the Giovanni conditioner, but it will last you for a while(well i guess depending on how often you wash) i only wash every 2 weeks. Mine last for about 2 months. Head & Shoulders(any type but i prefer the anti-itch or anti dandriff) is also not expensive and will last about 2months or maybe more.

Glad you found something that works for you.

I haven't heard too much about that conditioner but I doubt that it causes cancer. There's a lot of scaremongering that goes on when it comes to hair products and cosmetics. Nonetheless, it is always wise to do research into claims because it is better to be safe than sorry.

Good luck in your pursuit for more information about that conditioner.
Ooh I'm going to have to look for that at walmart because I have also tried a lot of DTs that haven't really done anything.

I think my mother use to use it on me when i was very little(of course i was natural) but i'm not sure. I know this product has been in existence for a LONG time. Maybe many people don't know about it because it's not in the black hair care sections. You can also find it at CVS as well(probably walgreens too) again it's not in the black hair care section of CVS either.
It is such a coincidence that you asked this question. I was talking about this very same product just yesterday. I was telling my co-worker how it good it was and she advised me against using anything with placenta because of my 'condition' (I have a history of ovarian cysts; I currently have several of them on my ovary).

She went on to explain that while they may work wonders on your hair, anything with placenta is not good for the body because of the hormones that they contain. This may explain where all these cancer rumours may come from.

I had been using it consistently for years and I loved the way it worked on my hair. It really did strenthen & did a good job at preventing furthur breakage. What a shame.

As a result of our little talk, I know for sure that I will not EVER be using this product again. As they say back home in the islands: "Where there is smoke, there is fire." There may be no solid proof that these things cause growths or cancer but I am not taking any chances. My health is more important. I am going to throw that product in the trash as soon as I get home!

But as another user said, there are rumors about almost every product or food we eat causing some type of disease.(That comment there actually made me cont. using it, because i thought about that as well) It's like you can't do anything anymore without being causious of something. So if you feel that way you might as well not eat or drink or use anything at all unless you grow it yourself It's sad i know, but if you feel that afraid it's best to grow your own things(safest bet). All i can say is this stuff has been out since the 1980s and taking the risk is probably the same as using a tampon and getting toxic shock syndrome. Or taking birth control pills(I do neither of those but i know MANY women that do)
As another user said, it's best just to use it in moderation IF you cont. to use it. I only use it 2 times a month so i don't use the product very often. But whatever floats your boat! lol
