Wedding Hair Style Suggestions...

This weekend I'll be attending the wedding of a very close friend of mine. I'm scheduled to go to the salon on Thursday to get my hair done (wash, blowdry, flat iron), but there is a good chance that I might have to cancel because I have some work items that MUST be finished before I leave town.

In the event that I can't keep my hair appointment, I need a few style suggestions on how I can style my own hair for the wedding. Here are some stats...

1. The wedding is at 7pm so it will be a bit more formal (although the invitiation doesn't say that)
2. Lots of friends from college will be there (including a few past flames) so it is imperative that I look GOOD...nay GREAT.
3. The wedding is in Texas...so it will be hotter than hot. Hair must be somewhat humidity proof (or at least work with the humidity) but I can adjust that with whatever products I use also.

Here is a link to the dress I'm wearing (sort of). My dress at the bottom is a champagne color with the black applique, same exact design as this dress, but I can't find a picture of my exact dress.

I've got moderate hair styling ability...pictures and videos would be great or instructions on how to create any suggested looks. Obviously tonight will be spent practicing any suggested looks so I can get a "feel" for how it will look.

bglhonline has some great wedding hairstyles!! check there. i like her hair and the hair piece. i'm all about hair accessories now.

Thanks LML. I never really go to BHLH but I guess I need to start.

I found this video that seems simple enough and it might work too. I could wash and do a flat twist out before I leave...which will be cute for the club/activities on Friday...and then turn the twist out into this little bun idea here.

ETA: I'm also liking this idea here too....

any thoughts or other suggestions ladies?

ShidaNatural on YouTube has a great tuck and roll style that could work. I'm at my work computer now and my job blocks YouTube, so I can't post the exact video. I'll have to do it tonight.

Here is a southern twist bun with flat twists in front. I parted the front at a slant to give me more of a swoop since I went without bangs.

if your hair is fabulous i'm inclined to say let it be big and out, maybe with a cute (non-white) hair accessory. you will look stunning that way. pinned up is cute but why contain all that pretty hair!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and links. I tried a few things last night...some were ok...some were total flops. *sigh* Lady V I'm going to check out the link you posted in a few.

LML....if all else fails....that's exactly what I'll be doing....lol.

Dang I forgot to post an update....

I ended up doing a low bun with some haircombs that had black crystals on them. Hair looked really nice/soft but formally and went with my dress perfectly. I have pics on my camera that I'll upload tonight/tomorrow.
