National Afro Day

I'd almost forgotten that July 4th was National Afro Day until I just went on CurlyNikki. I wore a curly fro last year. Not quite sure how I'm doing my fro this year.

Anyone else plan to rock fros on the 4th?

Yes girl...Im in yarn braids now but will be taking them out Sat...Im so ready....Ill be 7 month in July so im excited.....

CocoT 06-30-2011 11:57 AM

Of course. I rock a fro every day!

cora 06-30-2011 12:58 PM

Thanks for reminding me. Technically I wear a fro everyday, but it is a curly fro. I'll definitey comb it out on Monday and sport a BAA.

KandyLandKurls 06-30-2011 01:14 PM

Yes, my daughter is participating. I even posted about it on my blog KandyLand so hopefully it will encourage other kids to rock their fros too. But my daughters hair is more curly, so hopefully it will look good.

How ironic that the same day when mini rockets, fire crackers, and other sparking, flammable objects abound is when we're all gonna wear our hair out in afros. Michael Jackson Pepsi ad anyone???

*runs n hides*

Michael Jackson didn't have a fro at the time of the accident, so I'm not too concerned.

I still can't decide whether to blow my hair out or not though.

I'm taking it international. :). Hope these elementary kids will keep their hands out if my hair.

BekkaPoo 06-30-2011 04:37 PM

Yep, I will be too, but then again my hair is too short to do much of anything else anyways..lol

Everyone, don't forget to post pics!!

KandyLandKurls 06-30-2011 08:01 PM

LMAO @ the Micheal comment! :afro:

:laughing3:

Waaaiiiit a minute.....
If I put my whipped shea butter/coconut/jojoba oil mix in my hair, am I going to be flammable, too?

greenandchic 07-01-2011 10:48 AM

Maybe. At least a puff. My hair tangles so much, I don't know if wearing it "out" is worth it anymore. :(

PinkllSugar 07-01-2011 11:00 AM

We're celebrating the 4th on the 3rd this year. I don't have plans for the 4th, but maybe I'll rock one around the house.

kayb 07-03-2011 06:06 PM

The best I could do. Not a full out fro, buuuuuttttttt ;)

Rocked a fro for the fourth.

I look angry in this pic...I wasn't. My eyes also have a demonic glow...I assure you, I'm human.
