Unhappy Dry, burning, itchy scalp

I need help. I have super dry scalp.Every time I scratch/rub my scalp it burns. I have been dealing with dry scalp even when I was relaxed. I used grease to try and control it when I was relaxed but stopped since I became natural. the grease would do nothing but weigh my hair down and cause my scalp to itch. I have tried olive and tea tree oil but they do nothing but make my scalp itch as well. I havent tried coconut oil because my hair hates protein. i am no long deal with flaking since I stop relaxing but my scalp still burns and itches. I am so frustrated I dont know what else to do

You should stop scratching--you're only making the problem worse. Try washing your scalp with shampoo and following with an ACV rinse w/ tea tree oil. Also, if greasing your scalp dosent work stop doing it. You could try a homade scalp spritz made with water and tea tree oil.

Also think about the products you are using. Your scalp may not tolerate well certain ingredients. For me, certain synthetic fragrances and certain herbs make my scalp itch like crazy. Once I eliminated that, my scalp issue improved. I also use Qhemet Biologics grapeseed and tea tree pomade on my scalp.

if your scalp is dry then maybe you should apply castor oil, which is a thick oil, the day before washing or maybe you need to wash more often. I dilute shampoo or vinegar in a lot of water and pour it over my scalp, massage my scalp, then rinse once a week. During the week if my scalp feels itchy I apply a scrub, like one that you would use on your face, to my scalp and that helps the with the itching.

You could be sensitive or allergic to one of the ingredients in something you are using. Washing/co-washing more frequently should also help soothe the scalp until you figure out what the primary cause of irritation is. I'm trying to figure this one out too, so you aren't alone!!
