Daily combing/brushing?

Hello! I asked this question in the "Random 4a questions" thread also...

I wear twist outs the majority of the time and I usually have to retwist every night. I work out daily and if I workout with my hair "out" it would probably be a shrunken, knotted mess. The only problem with retwisting at night is that I usually have to comb/brush my sections to smooth it out. I've know that you're not supposed to comb/brush daily but I haven't found any other way around it. I will first spritz my hair with Oyin Juices and Berries, add Whipped Pudding, and sometimes the Shine and Define...comb/brush then twist. Has anyone had any negative side effects from combing/brushing so often? Finger detangling doesn't really "smooth" the hair...unless I'm doing it wrong, so I haven't been successful with that. Please offer any suggestions...Thanks!

Sorry for it being so long, I was tried to explain thoroughly
lol i was gonna suggest finger detangling. i rebraid my hair every night, but i finger comb.

well... if YOURE not having any issues doing it everynight, i think that's all that matters. i do a lot of things that ppl say you shouldnt do to my hair, but i still retain most of my length.
Thank you for replying . I will give the finger combing another try and see what happens. I don't think I'm seeing any damage from it, we will see for sure when I go to the salon for my trim. Great advice, thanks!
If you cowash and detangle gently with a comb before you rebraid you should still be able to keep your hair healthy and retain length. I constantly do bantu knot outs on my 4ab hair which is quick and easy to redo if needed
