Smile Shea Moisture making a gel :)

Found out today on faceboook that Shea Moisture will be releasing a new gel this fall...I can't wait! I hope it's just as good as my Eco...I've been on the hunt for a good gel that's easier to rinse out...I'm wondering what the ingredients are going to be since all their products are natural...maybe a flax seed gel? Just thought I would put this here for other people who love Shea Moisture...I'll update when I try it or if I get more info

I hope it's a great product that you can get on the ground and reasonably priced then these other gels.

I know I'm always on there looking for product updates...they're expanding so fast right now I love it...They're also updating their website to be more user friendly so maybe before the gel comes out they will have the ingredients posted *fingerscrossed*

I hope it smells like the Restoring Line.... I love that buttery sweet cake smell... I've also heard it may have the same scent as the baby care line...I've never smelled those before so idk

I prefer smells from the Coconut and Hibiscus Line. Looking forward to testing out this gel though.

That's good news, but I'm unhappy with this company's unwillingness to make their products more accessible on the ground. I'm still waiting for the Purification Masque to turn up at a Walgreen's in Manhattan. And why does Walgreen's have an exclusive? Why can't they put it in Target? This company seems to be doing well and has pretty good name recognition. I think it's time for them to be more aggressive in distribution especially in big city markets like NYC, Chicago, DC, L.A., etc. I'm not going to order this online no matter how good it is.

Actually it is in Target...Shea Moisture : Naturals + Organics : Beauty : Target

It all depends on what Walgreens you go to. I go to one in Boston to find the a larger selection of the Shea Moisture Line and other "ethnic" products. My local Walgreens has most of the Shea Moisture Line but I live in the suburbs where there aren't many black people so the "ethnic" hair care section is VERY small. So it depends on if you're in an area with there are more black or ethnic people. Weird I know but that's how Walgreens works. It's not too bad because I go to school in Boston so I"m there almost everyday.

+1 to auntcurly... I really need them to get together on the distribution and answering queries about it, AND getting their website together to include the new products and a decent store locator.

The PURIFICATION masque is not sold in Target. It is a Walgreens exclusive, and most Walgreens do not carry it or educate their employees enough to even know what it is, even their cosmetics counter managers. They are really missing out on an opportunity with this half-a**ed approach to "ethnic hair care".

I am wondering which store will carry the new gel, if any.

I know there are a lot of curlies out there that like the SM line. I'm not impressed. I tried the curl enhancing smoothie and it left my hair with build up. I guess I'll stick to Eco styler gel.

I know it's not on SM but Garnier Fruictis has great curl scrunch gels and they don't flake!

+1- I am in New York, and the Walgreens on Boston Road in the Bronx has a huge ethnic section, and has all the Shea moisture line. I have also seen the Purification masque @ Target in Mt. Vernon. The Walgreens near my house (in Westchester) does not carry the black label products- just peach and gold. It all depends on where you look, and what the shoppers demand as well.

Just saw on Facebook that they are asking the fans what they would like to see in the gel...Most agree they DO NOT want a gel with glycerin...It's nice to see they let the customers have input in how future products are going to be made....

Well, NONE of my Targets has the Shea Moisture line at all. I have to take what I can get at Walgreen's. Before Walgreen's, I had to order online if I were so inclined.

Walgreens offers free shipping over $25 for SM products.
