From the research I have done what Im getting is that the active ingredient in monistat can kill fungus all over your body. So when you have a fungal infection on your scalp monistat is not prescibed, but something else with miconazole nitrate or similar is prescribed. Its similar to clotrimazole (sp) which is used for yeast infections, or any other fungus..athletes foot, jock itch, ring worm n yes ring worm on the scalp. I dont know who figured out it makes your hair grow, but when I heard this I did alot of research then I went for it and it worked. It may not work for everyone. Some say that if you have some fungus on your scalp thats stunting growth this will get rid of it therefore hair will grow when fungus is killed. I have also heard it increases the circulation to the scalp to fight the fungus, increased circulation makes the hair grow (but increased circulation can also give headaches). Ladies, Im not a doctor or scientist, so I dont know how accurate any of this is. I heard it worked, I researched, I chose to believe and chose to try it. And it worked for me. I think everyone should research it and then make their own decision. Good luck!

BTW, you can use clotrimazole for hair growth instead of MN.

I didnt rinse out. I washed my hair once or twice a week as normal. You cant see the cream, it dissolves into the scalp. Make sure you massage it in for a few minutes. I prefered to not do it right before washing because I wanted it to sit on my scalp so it would do its job.

Yes you can use for more than 7 days. The reason they tell you to only use for 7days is because if you have an STD that you are mistaking for a yeast infection it wont go away after 7days of meds, so you should see a doctor for a new diagnosis. But for fungus on other parts of your body the medications are prescibed for longer. Fungus is pretty stubborn, so it can take a while of using an antifungal to get rid of it. (and yes that includes antifungals on the scalp)

Edit: sorry just saw that you were talking about the external itch cream. Im not sure what the active ingredients are in your cream. But depending on what else is in that could be why that particular cream should be used for only 7days. The above applies only to antifungals.

I am actually on day 4 of using MN, I found a tube in my drawer and luckily it hasnt expired LOL. I got a slight headache the first day but I used a light mix with water.. the second day I added oil to what I had left and .. less headache.. third day pure oil and zero headache and I applied it twice. Im documenting everything for a review but in the few days since i started, I can tell its working. I used a rough spot at the top of my spine.. straining.. now the tips and brushing it easily...woooooooo lets see where this goes!

so i found some coochie cream in my cousin bathroom and i squeezed it into some carl's daughter healthy hair butter, mixed it up with some coconut oil and applied it to my scalp. My cousin had jokes about it and i told her to shut up atleast i dont have sodium hydroxide in my hair and that shut her up lol...

LOL that is absolutely hilarious!!!

I actually had a moment when my best friend was hating on my newly natural hair.. she was like well you should do something to your hair, it looks a mess and I should perm it... and I told her well at least I dont have splits and you cant see through it... shut her up too...

But definitely post your results, Id love to see what happens

lol its liberating to hush people up! i will do that. i mean you cant even tell the cream exist once you mix it up. i added more cream to my mixture today. so after i wash im gonna hook my scalp up again..

I started the MN again a few days ago...man, I forgot how bad the headaches were! Im going to dilute it a little more and try again tomorrow. I guess I have to build up to the strength I was using it last time.

I started it a few days ago. I'm kind of prone to headaches and migraines so I don't know if they're from the mn or just bizness as usual. Unfortunately at a certain point in the day I'm kind of used to my head hurting almost to the point where I don't notice it
