It's best to detangle hair when damp -not soaking wet or completely dry- because it helps give it slip. If you come across a tangle don't pull cuz you'll only regret it later!!! Instead work in some more conditioner (which you should be using to help detangle anyway ) and maybe a little oil to loosen the knot. It should slip right out.
Also I find twisting my hair and then dusting my scraggly ends works better to let me determine how much I need to cut as well as how control I have with each snip.
Lastly always remember conditioner is your best friend. She will never forsake your hair or leave it dry if you let her Now you just gotta figure out if you like her thin and watery, thick and creamy or just plain deep lol
