I will experiment with diff styles using 2 strand flat twists and regular 2 strand twists. I'll probably get micros for a few months and also flat twist or cornrow my hair and pull out my favorite wigs!

Thanks for sharing.....

I have already started my fall protection. Boxbraids! and I'm trying to keep them for a while, not a month like I usually do.

I am thinking of alternating between nubian twists and crochet braids!!! I currently have nubians in and I am quite excited to try out crochet braids

I agree, I'm just going to use heavier products and seal my hair better.

Cornrows & twists. Not really for the purpose of protective styling but more for convenience.

I'll probably will be pro styling w/ buns, 2 strand flat twist, and 2 strand twist. Keke52284 on youtube has some awesome videos with different hairstyles for 2 strand twist, so im going to try some of those. Im really not that great with this flat twist yet, but practice makes perfect! Right now im wearing my hair with 2 strand twist on one side, with a bun. Im going to take the bun out and single twist that section. Its going to fun to experiment with my hair! Yea me!

Twists, twist buns, Kinky twists (I do them myself following naptural85's instructions), moisture moisture moisture, heavier products, more deep conditioning.

I had also considered going straight for a couple of weeks, maybe over xmas, as I have not flat ironed my hair since 2007. I was all set to follow Moptop Maven's tips, but in light of recent developments, I'm not even sure if I can trust those

Ooh, thanks for pointing me in the direction of Keke52284. I needed ideas for how to style my twists, they always look a little boring.

I'll probably be bunning the majority of time, but I'd love to try two or three strand twists.

I also plan on trying castor oil for heavy sealing and deep conditioning more. I might even DC while I'm at school and just wear a benie to hide it.

For the next few months, I will flat twist my hair and wear a wig I purchased last year. Then I would love to get micro braids, but time and expense may prevent this from happening.

Your hair is lovely! Man, you need to post a full tutorial on how you did your hair in that 3rd pic... not that my hair is anywhere near long enough to attempt it yet!

For me, I've had yarn braids twice this year already and I'm not really wanting to put them in again (takes too long to install/take out and I miss my hair during the time), but I recognise that it'd be the perfect protective style for me.
I think it'll be weekly twists or fortnightly/3weekly mini braids, loads of moisture, thicker products (I'll either be stocking up on Qhemet by next week or during the xmas sale), deep treatments, not going out with any sort of exposed wet hair, eating more healthily, drinking more, hats and scarves, pwning at snowball fights, flat twists, bantu knots aplenty, cornrows if I learn how to do them and sealing my hair to the max like a mofo if I ever wear my afro out.

Oh you are so sweet. The third pic is actually the same pictures as the first two but I just pulled my hair up in clip. Also my hair isn't that long but I'll post a YouTube video when I get a better camera cause using my i-phone is terrible. 

Getting a "bob" sew in, in a couple weeks. At max I'll keep it in 2 months.
