Whats a good Clarifying shampoo?
Happy Tday 4b's & other curlies.
I would prefer a natural or organic brand shampoo. Any suggestions?

Not sure about shampoo, but I use an apple cider vinegar rinse and it works wonders. An ounce or less of ACV in 16 oz of water thoroughly rinses my hair and the scalp tingling sensation is nice.

I use Giovanni's 50:50 Balanced Hydrating-Clarifying Shampoo...I purchased the BIG pump bottle from TJMaxx $12.99...would highly recommend, doesn't leave that stripped naked feeling.

Thanks fronomenal (love that profile name! ) Can I just use the SM black soap bar? I don't have the poo itself in this area. But I will order it online. In the meantime I will experiment with this bar I got from target. If it works its going to save me 5 bucks. I only clarify when needed or monthly. I use moisture retention weekly

Your welcome! & Thanks!
I haven't tried the bar but I don't see why it wouldn't work. You might wanna do an ACV rinse afterward, I head that it prevents bulid-up from using soap/shampoo bars.

I use two different clarifying shampoos and the one I like the most is only $2. It's by Suave. The other is Fantasia Tea Tree Clarifying Shampoo. I like the way it smells but not only does it make my fair feel super dry, but it makes my skin feel super dry after i'm done washing my hair. It gets my hair nice and clean though. I think they make a conditioner too.

I like Elucence Volumizing Clairfier Shampoo. My hair feels super clean but not stripped.
I would consider Kinky Curly Come Clean to be a clarifier.

I was going to say black soap, specifically the Shea Moisture shampoo that I hear so many good things about. I also like QB EWCT, but I doubt it's necessary to spend so much when I've also heard good things about V05's clarifying 'poo which is cheap and KC Come Clean.

If you hadn't said a natural product I would have said Suave shampoo. That stuff will strip chrome off a bumper... If bumpers were still chrome.

Seriously, I use suave if I'm in dire need of a clarifying shampoo or I'm just in a hurry (heavily diluted) for a regular wash.

I use bentonite clay and it is awesome!
In the past I have also used baking soda with my normal shampoo.

Yes bentonite clarified like nothing else. I highly recommend Terresentials mud wash (lemon scent worked best for me).

I second Giovanni 50:50 shampoo. Its sulfate free, but it gets the job done without stripping my hair.

I have tried the As I Am curl clarity shampoo. It left my hair really moisturized and it is sulfate-free. However it wasn't my favorite cleanser. But it does work pretty good.

So many great suggestions! I settled on Mixed Chicks Sulfate free Shampoo. Since I don't use any cones these days its been great using the MC once a week.
