Wow I'm going to try the cg method and see how that works out. Plus the conditioning only looks really good. I will compare that to the gel one and see the different

Curlytee can u give more detail about ur conditioner only method. Do u dry the dry after wash then out the conditioner or do u put the conditioner on soaking wet hair and shake of the excess?

I have been on conditioner only for the past two weeks and I can say my curls is looking better but not as fierce as yours. But I put my conditioner on soaking wet hair in the shower then shake the excess water out in and out of the shower

I was really in denial about this for a while with my hair but it's true (at least for me). I don't use regular conditioner to cleanse my hair, I use the cleansing conditioners (Devacurl No-poo, CJ Daily Fix) and I have noticed a big difference in overall manageability in the past month. I will keep a couple of my sulfate-free shampoos (Abba Moisture, MOP C-system Hydrating) on hand for use 1x/month, but in general, not shampooing on a weekly basis has been the best thing for my hair.

^^I like the DevaCurl No-poo cleanser, the One Condition, and the Set it Free, but not in the winter. Not enough moisture for me. I do wash n go's most of the time.

This is something I realized too. I do have to use shampoo for my scalp though, because nothing else cleans it well enough for me and over time I will get itchy scalp like crazy. I resolved to only washing my scalp w/shampoo and whatever run off goes down my hair strands will have to be enough to shampoo them. That has prevented me from experiencing the dryness and tangling that comes from shampooing my entire head. I even tried shampooing in sections and the detangling still gives me headaches.

I put the conditioner on soaked hair then squeeze out. I use a good amount at $3.50 a bottle Im more concern with distribution. I challenge all us all to try the conditioner only method for a period of 8 weeks no excuses then watch the results.

I've learned that I (a 4a) can have manageable hair which I wet everyday when I give my hair what it needs moisture and its not expensive.

So wat product do u use in winter to up ur moisture level, that might help me out a great deal. Right now I'm using tresseme but I need something more moisturizing than that

Your water and Conditioner is all that is needed. Commit to one natural product for 30 days watch what happens. No cheating (tresemme Naturals Only) there are no miracle products needed for our Miracle Hair.

We just have to give it what it needs. Moisture (Water) + Conditioner

I've tried the conditioner only method, but I can't get over the dull greyish cast it leaves behind after drying. :/

Blame Siri for the typos!

I did have a minor snafu because I added conditioner over the top of my hair after I used the gel. Left a white residue. Next time I will follow the dorections on the bottle better.

Please excuse my expression. I'm a bit tired today.

My staples conditioner for winter are:
Desert Essence Coconut conditioner
CJ Smoothing Conditioner (the rinse out one)
Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner (my all time all year round fave)

I also like the CJ Argan/Olive oil conditioner (as a leave-in) and the Beauticurls leave-in, but the Elucence conditioner is good for me as a leave-in too.

Adding any oil you like to your current conditioner or leave-in will also work so you don't have to go out and get new stuff.

ETA:
Try adding oil on top of the Tresemme, or check out Garnier Triple Nutrition. They all basically have the same kinds of ingredients.
