2012 Grow Out Challenge!

Hello Natural Beauties!

Interested in a grow out challenge for 2012? I noticed we all have individual goals, however sometimes we need a little support.

**GUIDELINES**

Join the challenge by becoming a member of the 2012 Grow-Out Challengers Community social group (go to community, then click social groups, become a member )
The challenge will start on December 31, 2011 and run through December 31,2012.
The challenge is open to join at any time. No cut off date!
Post pictures with updates, ideas, and and anything else hair related that you'd like to share.
KEEP POSITIVE!!! We're here to support each other.

**UPDATES** every three months

March 31st
June 30th
September 30th
December 31st

Share this info once you join the community:
~Current hair length
~Relaxed/Natura/Texlaxed/Loc'd
~Length goal month
~Current Regimen and styling choices
~What do you plan on changing (if anything) to make it to your goal?
~Post a beginning picture

I'm in too. I'm still transitioning and I will be right at 18months at the end of the yr so that will be good. I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to stop transitioning at the 2yr mark or go on for 3yrs but I'm all for growing out my hair regardless!

I've been natural for 2 years but did a second BC over the summer and would like to eventually get back to where I was (on my way to APL).

I just had to update. In my earlier post I said I was going to be transitioning a lot longer and I was planning on it but I did a spur of the moment BC last night. So I am completely natural now after transitioning for 16 months and 2weeks

! My longest layer reaches my shoulders and my shortest layer reaches my chin when stretched. I made my first official puff last night and I can still make a bun so I'm beyond pressed! Lol. I'm so focused on maintaining my healthy hair, diet and exercise reggie so EVERYTHING will fall into place. I ultimately want apl/bsl curly hair and mbl straight hair.

OMG NaturalBeauty, congratulations. I believe the best BCs are the ones you don't plan. Can't wait to see pics. 

Thanks so much! I am BEYOND EXCITED! I am kinda mad at myself for not doing it before now. Lol. I was soooooooooo hung up on hanging onto those relaxed ends and I was just looking at them last night like why?! I had chopped off 4inches back in January so I only had another 3inches of relaxed ends left and they just looked sooo sad hanging onto my beautiful curls so I just said F it and started cutting! I'm glad I did. All of that anxiety over cutting for nothing! LOL.

I wanted to take some pics last night but it took me FOREVER to BC. I cut my hair in very small sections and went section by section and literally curl by curl bc I wanted to make sure all of those relaxed ends were GONE so I didn't finish my hair (wash, BC and style) until 4:30am. Needless to say by that time I was not up for taking pics! Lol. I will however get some updated ones and when I do I will definitely post them. The only thing I have now is my bag of relaxed ends! Lol.

Thanks! Yes it does. I really have no clue why I was stressing over it so much. It's like the anxiety over dealing w/the 2 different textures (or 3 in my case lol), not truly seeing your hair,etc is now gone! I'm in love!
