I'm going to post this here too, if you know the answer, holla:

I needed advice for anyone who has worked abroad preferably from 2009 to present. If you know Visa law though feel free to chime in. I recently had to let a job opportunity go because my FBI check turned up an arrest for driving without car insurance and even though the charges were dismissed and is considered a misdemeanor, the country I wanted to go to still says no. Now I recently called the recruiting company I used and I told them I was trying to look at other locations and their response to me is that I am not eligible to work anywhere until I get the arrest off my record. This is not exactly okay because I am in a state where I don't have certification and cannot really find a teaching job here. I really can't afford to move back to my home state where friends and family are. So my question is, are all Asian countries like this, needing a background check. I guess I am a little skeptical because when I looked at work visas for China and Japan they don't mention anything about a background check in an application for their visas. So I am looking at the company with a bit of a side eye. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you I know right? She growing so fast, I miss my 5 pounder. I keep pulling out Preemie size stuff and sighing. 90% of her baby hair has fallen out, so I'm assuming that means her permanent curls are about to grow in?

I dont have any special knowledge but sounds like if you want to do this you will likely need an attorney to clean that off your record. My state has firms that help low income people with things like expungement. Considering the type of government China has I would be surprised if they didnt have a background check.

I called the county that I was "arrested" in. He said just fill out this form and pay $25. He also was just like I don't understand the issue. Never went to court and the case was dismissed, I had to tell him it didn't matter. So tomorrow I'm taking care of it.

Especially China although it is not mentioned I would expect it because they dont have an open government. They would probably want to make sure you arent a spy, a revolutionary or worse a journalist doing an expose.

Hopefully the $25 will solve the issue.

Yeah, *sigh* ,I would have taken care if this the day the charges were dismissed if I had known it would have lost me a job I had secured. If they do ask hopefully it will be a state level check becuz I will clear where I am living now. My new recruiter hasn't told me to go ahead to get one which is a hopeful sign because when you have to do the FBI they tell you: DO IT NOW because those take forever versus a state level which is only like a week two week waiting time.

Yeah I heard of this a few years ago. I forgot if it was Oprah or Tyra that reported on it and they had commercials for skin lightening products so they could look like the desirable tv stars or something.

I knew bleaching is big in Asia and Africa but I didnt know people were bleaching their junk. They have lost their damn minds. got mercury in it. look up and their stuff will be rotting off. No thanks. And that commercial? Oh lord.

I admit I trie bleaching cream back in the day to get rid of scars on my arm from minor burns. Didnt work.

I really want to try those creams that Leo remove under eye circle discoloration but Im scared it is low key bleaching cream and I will have disastrous results.

Okay so around high school I became anti-fad diet. I thought they're not effective and not holistically healthy. Fast forward to today and I saw on someone's page that was supposed to be some type health page advertising for a recipe that included butter, heavy cream, pork, and eggs. TF???? I asked like what is going on here?? They told me this is part of the Atkins Diet HIGH FAT and LOW CARB. I just WTF??!?! I never knew this was the basis of the Atkins diet. I simply said you know carbs are you're body's favorite source of energy and fat is second. The problem with fat though is the health problems it can create.
