The New & Improved Say It I Dare You

Wow. That thread is racist to suggest because someone is white he has a problem with or is turned off by kinky hair.. If anything I get hit on more by white guys since I went natural. All my guy friends regardless of race love my hair and say I look more attractive as a curly.

I wore a dress today and a woman commented on my legs but not in a bad way. I have big legs. My calves are huge. They have always attracted a lot of attention. It is not from weight or working out. They were big when I was a little girl. Most people I know have pencil legs. Anyone else have big legs? Do people comment?
Does very muscular, but not big count too? LOL Anyway, nice of her to compliment you!

But downside I can't go to store and buy those cute knee high boots because they won't fit over my calves. Finally mom found a store you can special order wide calf on line. I have to buy rain boots a size too big to get my legs in those. Straight leg jeans are out too.

But definitely helps get me noticed though.

So we are trying to find me an apartment in Taiwan and the principal has taken over and he has found a house but it comes with a roommate that is a niece of the teacher of where I work. I know he means well but I already know how this may play. Taiwanese people are very nice and can be overly concerned about ppl. I have a feeling she will be curious about me, baby me, and anything she feels I may have an issue w/ it will get back to the principal. I am very independent and it is not a big deal for me to walk the streets and search for something as I attempt to learn and speak Chinese. However out of concern for me will try and prevent me from doing that and to be honest I want to come back to an apartment that is empty and only Noni is there if anything but that will seem unfriendly to them so how do I get out if this w/o offending anyone????

Well I am staying at least until July 2014. However I was anxious for nothing because my principal told me if u want to stay by yourself it is okay. So I told him I want to stay by myself. The young lady already had fish eyes at me and I can't relax around someone who is curious about me or go to sleep half naked in a bra and leggings as I am now because of the heat.

Good for you! Otherwise, I was gonna urge you to find a place just for yourself, via whatever means necessary, especially for such a LONG stay

My personal limit for living in a stranger's place, or having an acquaintance living with my DH and I, is pretty short ... about 3-5 days LOL And recently, we had a lessor known family member land at our door and we took her in for 3 WEEKS.

I learned more about her and I love her, but if I had it to do over again, I'd gnaw off my left leg instead. It could have worked out if we had two different personalities and set of needs, but IMO it's just too much of a crap shoot. We all have quirks and proclivities and things. I've always thought that the best way to try and turn two best friends into two top enemies is to have them live together for a while. And in this situation you were already feeling uneasy about her LOL so me thinks you may have dodged a bullet

This is horrible and preventable.
Alright, I have a problem, and I need help:

There are 2 editions for the book for one my courses. I can either get the older edition which is A LOT cheaper, now (before school). Or fall behind/ dig at the library for the 3rd edition, until I can afford it. I asked my professor of the course if the 2nd edition mattered and he said he couldn't find a difference BUT the tests are based on the 3rd ed. So, the best thing to do, if I buy the lower (2nd) edition, is to get a friends 3rd edition (or hopefully the library will have it) and compare and make sure the basics are the same. That sounds somewhat ideal, but I am scared that I won't know whats on the test or miss a small detail or something (I am overly neurotic). But, if I choose to get the 3rd edition, I have to wait a few since it's a lot more.

Here is the break down of price:
2nd ed. (older)- $25 rent (not including shipping)
3rd ed. (newest)- $73.75 rent (including shipping)

I know $73 doesn't seem like a lot but I have other bills that are coinciding with book paying time, so something has to wait, and I can't make my car insurance wait.

What should I do?

A happy medium could be: You could go ahead and rent the 2nd edition now and save up to be able to switch to the 3rd edition a little later in the semester.

But you could stick w/the 2nd edition depending on how relevant this one class is to your major, and how much it might impact your GPA in the event that you lose 5-10 points off your final grade in the class. I guess 5-10 points because it sounded like your professor wasn't exactly urging you against renting/buying the 2nd addition, but he suggested there could be new material, since he's basing it off the 3rd edition, which tells me he probably has a reasonable confidence level about you using that older text, but it could cost you a few points (which might not be his main concern, but possibly should be yours).

Another option: Some texts are in limited circulation, so they're only available on campus. But some of these texts, save the more abstract ones. may be available on eBay, and for much cheaper, and w/a shorter delivery time. That might be worth looking into if you haven't already. In the meantime, you could arrange to borrow a classmate's text in between the first few classes, while you wait for yours to arrive.

Yet another option: If you want but can't find the 3rd edition text for a reasonable price anywhere - and this takes chutzpah - you could go back and ask your professor or the TA if s/he might have a copy of the 3rd edition that you could borrow for the duration of the course. (That's something I'd do if I couldn't get the 3rd edition on time and for cheap, because I'm very forward and don't mind potentially being told no and get off on saving $$.)

Thanks so much for the options and your opinions on them. See, I am afraid that using the 2nd ed. would be 'on the fence,' so to speak, when it comes time to study and re-look at the material. I am also worried since the test comes from the 3rd ed. He didn't seem so opposed to me using the 2nd ed. like you said.

After a deep debate with myself I decided that I am going to go ahead and get the 3rd ed. because I don't want to take any chances. I am going to put some aside now ($) and then when I have the rest of the money, buy it. THANK YOU!!!
